Oh wait I haven't gotten a strike, I got a warning and a mute, neither message had the word "strike' in it
Oof
One moment
Oh nice it expires on August 6
Thats the day after my birthday
That means you have to give me paragon if I apply
Not legally
Between hunters titans and warlocks which is the strongest class in lore
All and none. Doesn't work like that.
It’s like saying which martial arts is the strongest when they all specialize in different ways
But if bonds are used to limit a warlocks power wouldn’t they be the strongest per say
Where did you even get that
Ikora is a hacker and power scaling is hard
A Warlock's Bond is both a symbol and a focus of power.
Bonds aren't limits
And also still no
Also *per se
Why would they be this
Where did you get this information
Can someone give me or refer me a summary of story events from lightfall to the present, been a lil too distant from destiny lately
Including lf
Or after
Including
Witness attacks traveler
Traveler fires beam
Fails
Witness traps it in baby jail
We hitch a ride to Neptune via calus' ships
Meet the neomuna quasi xenophobic people
We try to fight off calus and save the veil (we don't know wtf the veil is)
Funky strand which is horseshoed and isn't really relevant
We eventually kill calus
Witness takes control of ghost and makes that portal thing using the veil
Then season of the deep
Apparently traveler is gardener and veil is winnower, the link made some portal fuckery the witness can use to create basically anything iirc?
The traveler blessed the witness' civ first who tried to make the portal but traveler went no fuck off and fucked off
The people combined using veil and/or darkness and badaboom witness
That's about it ig
The traveler portal is the portal to the metaverse
Could you explain this bit about "the traveller blessed..." some more if that's okay?
Like blessed us
Gifts n shit
Golden age
Ah
Like with the eliksni
Left because they tried to make portal
Traveler thinks cringe
The witness wants the metaverse and kills anything the traveler blesses because it wants to stop traveler to make metaverse
Because the world is cringe ig
The witness seems salty
Is their title a self given one or did people just start calling them "the witness"
Probably self given
Is it like they "witnessed" the destruction the traveler causes or sumthin?
portal?
Witness super pessimist/nihilist and going down the racist route, except if it wins then all reality gets fucked
Tried to do the thing they did at the end of Lightfall
Hints as to how the other side works but nothing concrete; I suggest reading the lore tab on the ship the Sonar Station gives - Akashic Revelation - and then searching up Akashic Records
I typed up a big theory on how it might possibly work but I’m too lazy to scroll up
Lol
"Quasi"?
Extremely, at least Jisu Calarondo and people who listen to him are
Considering it had been less than a week when he interviews Osiris and all past experience with Lightbearers had been the Warlords, it’s somewhat understandable they have some apprehensions towards Guardian forces entering their city
There’s more nuance to the scenario, not to apologize for any xenophobic sentiment, but it’s not cut and dry why and how they have their beliefs
Veil is not Winnower, at the minimum it isn’t confirmed
It’s very much worth noting that Unveiling is from the Witness and conforms to the Witness’ vocabulary but the Witness’ people do not call the Veil the Winnower
They desired one but the Veil was not it
oh, i see
also is the unveiling being from the witness part confirmed? I've seen it floating around but havent seen anything concrete
You think vex created their own version of the veil? (Black heart)
that feels pretty likely considering post campaign LF
Maybe we will get a vex season next season
Well it’s written in the Witness’ vocabulary bar the use of I rather than we, and it conforms 1:1 with the Witness’ actions
Then there’s the side part where it’s from a relic given to us by the Witness which leads us to the Witness in the black garden, who tried to convince us to join it, then we get unveiling from the same artifact which then tries to convert us to its side again
well, although the witness personality and manner of speaking could've changed, the entire way unveiling "speaks" so to speak feels completely different from the witness
Not created, read the Brass Gardeners entry from Inspiral
for a lack of better word, unveiling feels like it was written with unbiased bias
Root of nightmares book
where everything non-objective displayed as fact is also very easily presented as subjective
Hell yea vex lore
so, biased, but in a way that is technically unbiased
it feels dramatically different from "nihilistic pissbaby" witness we've seen so far
thats an exaggeration of his character but
granted unveiling was written a while ago, both by the irl writers and by the witness if it wrote it
Worth noting that at the end it basically plugs itself as the winning team
to be fair if i had repeatedly won an ungodly amount of times earlier i'd be this cocky too
Why does brass gardeners read like how you’d think coding sounds
Because it’s from the pov of the vex
Ohhh
That makes sense
Also what does radiolaria smell like? Do the dawning cookies tell?
Shoving the “Winnower is what the Witness wanted the Gardener and the Veil to be” theory here again
that was a pretty crazy scene
Let’s watch it again
This is The Witness Origins Cutscene Leaked Which will be shown later on in the season!
Huge Credit to BungieLeaks!

Apologies, I’ve been out of the loop, are there any new lore entries that expand on what was in the cutscene, or anything somewhat new story-wise?
Yeah
Even the weekly lore book entry was just zavala-ikora reacting to the news
Man I love calus
Too bad cause he’s DEAD
:(
My favorite bit of Calus lore is him putting a dangerous relic of suggestive thought on a newly cloned Cabal expecting it to allow him to control Hive
The mindbender mk2?
I mean it was decent logic
“this crown will let me control hive but it’ll definitely turn me into a mindless slave”
“I’ll just use a clone that’s already my mindless slave instead”
Are we still the same Guardian from Destiny 1?
Cuz I’m starting to not believe that
How is it that Ghost doesn’t know what the taken are then? That’s so weird..
Like we literally killed Oryx and partook in The Taken War across the solar system
that’s you not having the same character or account from D1
Bungie specifically made a system where the game recognizes if you have a veteran account
But I do
you are canonically the same guardian
the character you heard that dialogue on didn’t beat taken king, then
that dialogue from an Io red war mission only plays if the character doesn’t have veteran status
also there was a cutoff
Huh
it won’t count anything that you do after 2017, when D2 released
to be a real “veteran” your character had to do that stuff in D1 before 2017
So my account qualified
there’s a difference between your account and your characters specifically
if you delete one of the characters that was brought over from D1, the new character is considered a new light
I’m confused, but, I guess that’s an interesting answer to my question
they’d have no veteran qualities
the short answer is, bungie just accounted for new players with a veteran dialogue system
That’s cool
if your character qualified, you’d hear the veteran dialogue
Are there other lines like that?
otherwise it’s generic stuff to explain to newbies
all over
every major dlc has had them
also the fish tank in the helm has a bunch of stuff relating to old seasons
Really? That’s cool, is there a list?
if you beat them there’s an object relating to each one
you can find compilations on YouTube
Are there any legendary/exotic ships that are canonically a cargo ship in their description?
question regarding thorn and dredgen Yor, so I’m just now watching the lore between him and the last word owner, but I’m a bit confused on the witch that temps Dredgen to follow her inside the hive temple on the moon, Xyor. Do we ever learn what happens to her and how was she able to create thorn? (I haven’t finish the lore so correct me if I’m wrong)
The channel 'destiny lore vault' ought to have stuff like that
Ah noice, very funky
she didnt create thorn
"At some point he traveled to the Moon, chasing rumors of nightmares, and encountered the Hive. Leaving his Ghost at the door, he began fighting his way through the Hive tunnels and eventually killed a Knight who was Xyor’s betrothed. When he returned to the surface, he brought trophies with him and affixed them to his hand cannon, Rose."
he basically got corrupted by the hive artifacts he kept
specifically the one he attached to rose
yep
Ahh that makes sense, thank u for clarifying
This the story of the guy who gouged his eyes out and destroyed his ghost
no?
what
no
dredgen yors ghost is still alive and well
and so is jarens
ironically shin's is the only one thats dead
Oh sorry I thought you weee talking about the guardian who got infected by the hive and took his eyes out and destroyed his ghost after it revived him
I forgot where I really got it.really only came to me when you said that
uhuh
another question, so Shin says jaren ghost rarely ever talked (as he only overheard it talk to Jaren) after he passed away and he becomes a Lightbearer does the ghost ever speak to him or did it always stay quiet after that?
Might be thinking of the guardian that Nezarec tormented
im thinking either that or eris
but ive never heard of what they are describing in the literal sense
shin didnt "become" a lightbearer after jaren died
he always was one
shin was revived as a child
and his ghost was destroyed
Ohhh that explains a lot
Eris had her eyes taken by an Ahamkara wish when she wished upon an ahamakara bone/shard and it took her eyes for the way out of the Hellmouth. She replaced them with an Acolyte’s eyes, taking out some of her frontal lobe for the third one
a ghost and a guardians relationship is a one time deal
i know
eris's lore
im just saying they might have confused it for something
Fair
considering they mention eyes being taken out
and the hiven
but tbh i think they must made it up
Do all ahamkara wishes come with a price?
What was the price for creating the dreaming city
wait
was the city created by an ahamkara wish?
i just know they brought riven there
riven helped build it
but it didnt build it alone
so it most likely wasnt a "wish"
just riven choosing to help
on their own volition
Oh so the price thing is just the ahamkara choosing to
Mara made the wish wall for that very reason
It was. Mara utilised Riven often. But with utmost care and precision, total self-assurance, without leeway for a twisting of a wish.
ah makes sense
It was why only Mara could Wish to Riven in such a way
Uldren wasn't even allowed near her
i guess its hard to monkey paw someone when they are super precise
Eventually however, it fails, but that’s mostly Oryx’s doing
yeah the scorn kinda proved why he shouldnt have been near her
ever
dude fucked up hard with that one lol
That was corruption due to exploring the Black Garden and also getting caught in the dreadnaught blast
Riven being Taken was a big part of the catalyst for the curse
he was just saving fikruls life
and he really didnt think the wish all the way through
He wasn’t in his right state of mind
Wdym
Scorn weren't even an effect of the Wish
yeah the dark ether was?
To make sure that there was no price?
Well, he lost his people, his friends, his sister, and was corrupted by the garden
Not to mention the trauma from Mara not telling him all her plans; bro was messed in the head bad
im not saying the scorn just poofed into existance when he wished for fikruls life to be saved
but its an indirect cause
The Wish only made Fikrul
Without Variks's experiments on Fikrul, we might have never seen the Scorn
Ah I see
Technically, for the entirety of Forsaken
In a way
He wasn't trying to make Scorn
Just experimenting with Ether, Fikrul, and corpses
Didn't end well, of course
Yah
We can also partly blame him for BL
not really
variks did the right thing in bl
by stealing the splinter
without variks eramis would have still done her stuff
Come again what is the splinter exactly
variks helped us massively if anything
Darkness thingy
Little Pyramid Shard that gave us Stasis
his main fuck up is still forsaken and the whole prison fiasco
Until we learned to wield it independently
The crux looking thing
One of the reasons I still hate him
so did eramis end up learning the same later?
or is she still reliant on it
You don’t know but I thought she still had it
else
I could have phrased that better
yeah, eramis never properly learned stasis
none of salvation did
it's how the witness is able to keep her under wraps
Very tall
Calus and the Witness
Grimoire art. Subject to change, but not non canon.
Basically the same thing
you're basically the same thing
wrong
Go look up the Salvagers Salvo loretab
Investigator Maier of the future war cult
I am canon and there aint a single thing you can do about it
aw shit

Did shaxx and felwinter beef over personal reasons or was he just a bad guy lol
Neither on either front
I wouldn't be surprised if it's height can vary, since in the anthology, it towered over Calus while ingame we have seen it around the same height as him
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/records/remembrance
It's a bit complex to explain in its entirety but I recommend reading the entry
SOME TIME DURING THE LATE DARK AGE.
Iron Lords Efrideet, Saladin, and Felwinter sat in a Warlock meditation chamber, around a massive oak table, in a keep on Felwinter Peak. A fire crackled in the corner out of the lips of a stone-lined hearth.
A hand-written letter in messy scrawl rested atop the table.
“Warlord Shaxx accepts my challenge,” Fel...
Shaxx was a Warlord and did not align with the Iron Lords
Great read
the Iron Lords wanted to try and bring him to their side or to get him out of the way due to other Warlord disputes in the region
I think
been a while since I read it
yeah, seems like they wanted to stop a lot of Warlords fighting in the area
Warlords who were also willing to attack Shaxx and his people
It was a bit of a three way conflict
yeah
still funny how Citan got wrecked by Felwinter, then Felwinter gets instantly defeated by Shaxx
Citan does have good lore meme potential
like just say that he can solo the Witness or Goku ironically
You think there's any chance that a guardian could beat Goku?

i don't know anything about goku other than he wears orange and likes dying his hair yellow
so
probably i dunno
Lmfao
If the plot so demands us a gun will take care of Goku
pretty sure the plot is a canonical power given to us by Paracausality
Truly
would explain how the Aegis is able to counter the Vex having control over reality
you know, that is probably how we will beat the Witness
it tries to pull out its newfound power over reality, then we pull out the Aegis and say "it's time to make our own Destiny" as we one-phase its ass
We will beat the Witness the same way we beat literally any other major threat in the entirity of Destiny
Guns and bullets
Shoot it till dat healthbar drops to 0
True
That specific type of glaive we craft yes
Obviously the type of weapon has existed before just like in real life
true!
i'm gonna love it when we fight the witness with all our allies and zavala, holding the aegis, says, "it's time to make our own Destiny 2: Saga of Light and Dark" and zavalas all over the witness
actually, glaives came from the 13th century. or maybe it was the 15th century. i forget
just a question
is there a lore about guardians using all armors being exotics?
if there is, is it taxing or we only got restrictions because of gameplay purposes?
too much light you pop like a baloon
I dont remember much lore about it but I guess that's would be what it is if bungie do go in deep
like a lot of exotics have alot of powers in them so
like wardcliff somewhere said if modified wrong it can destroy a whole planet
but you know how it is in game
it just got me thinking, since from what i know all guardians can use all subclasses but they choose or use the "game" supers because its what they are used to or have disciplined the most
if not light most exotics would be filled with darkness too
like ahamkara spine and the nez helm
imbalance?
mixed element might disrupt more than benefit the user?
corruptions and shit the typical stuff
Pretty sure lore speaking exotic armor doesnt even do much in most cases
but now I guess it isnt a strong point when we ourself can use darkness power
there are a few exceptions but most of the time exotic armor is a gameplay thing rather than a lore thing
but how about a guardian having all exotic as armor?
Just because we use a helmet that looks like Saint-14's doesnt mean in lore the guardians bubble gets cooler
Makes no sense
all i know is that guardians can use every subclasses, but not sure if they can use all exotic in their armor slots
Again most armor we know as exotic is just that
Armor
An exception I can think of would be like Stomps
Since in the loretab Markus actually builds them and modifies it so it gives you enhanced jump
But exotic is simply a type of rarity in universe
i just read this in a youtube comment before, i think there is a titan who uses golden gun i remember he was a dredgen
not sure how valid was that comment
Theres nothing stopping any Guardian from using any super provided they trained with them
You can be a titan and throw a nova bomb if you know how
Sense in funny space shooting game

i see, its just their discipline or how used are they to that said power
its literally is just the same as studying a martial art
Correct
the golden gun one is pretty cool since you arent even lock to a handcannon
shit, that would be a disaster, imagine a nova bombing titan then immediately goes into thundercrash
Guardians may also use the light in ways we cant ingame
You can make a golden gun rocket launcher that shoots nova bombs if youre skilled enough

we just dont know how taxing it is on a guardian strength if they try to do some dumbshit like that tho
Shadowshot that shoots out solar hammers
shaw han lore right? where he buffed the guns and it turned into a golden gun buffed rifles?
most of the lore we have are about pretty famous and strong guardians
the youngwolf themself should be the strongest being in the game right now tbh
Eh not sure
calus fanfic into reality?
Trying to scale the protagonist against other guardians is always hard
Saint, Saladin, Ikora etc are definitely up there but its hard to say if they could win against us
Depends on the context and who the writer would want to win
easy to tell when every time a tough thing came up they called for us
I doubt most other guardians even do much beside patrols
Again thats because we're the player
We are supposed to win everything as long as the plot demands it
stasis base with void blades(scythe)
Many exotic armor loretabs tell of guardians actively engaging in battle
So no I dont think we're the only one doing work in universe
well yeah I didnt say all of them have to be boring like that
tho it would be awesome to read if there are guardians mixing their supers
the fact that this is still a game just means for the really important stuff it always has to be us doing the hard work
Because imagine reading on cool raid boss lore that just some rando guardian fireteam do instead of us
Would take away from feeling like the protagonist
like a stasis/solar hammer
Closest thing I can give you are Osiris in his final moments of being a lightbearer
the crystals appear and it will implode with solar...i guess
now that I think about it isnt burning maul is literally golden gun but on a giant ass hammer a titan bring with them
Bro unleashes hell on a lot of hive using every element at the max
golden gun but only the bottom of the gun
underbarrel goldie
is it when he lost sagira(anger) or he needs to save sagira? (desperation)
Its in the final moments before he loses Sagira
I think
been a hot minute since ive read that part
oof he is in that state of desperation huh, poor old man
sagira didnt deserve that end
and the off screen death
hang on a sec imagine a titan using glacial strike+blade fury
wolverine styled claws, freezing+suspend
or tether riding the gathering storm
Whats the lore of destiny Ik it might take long but is there a short answer?
Is there a goal?
Ok well what started the lore
that
isekai but we get a gun
So the start of destiny is isekai
For a better start
well no that's wrong but its kinda like that
easier if you just go watch byf videos tbh
Winnower and Gardener play game in metaphorical abstract existence
Was there not an alien invasion
Winnower keeps winning
Gardener gets angry
adds new rule
fight ensues
Gardener is shanked
Universe is created
Theres aliens in this game right
yes
we get there when we get there
Universe creations cause Gardener, Winnower and Pattern to take physical forms
So the aliens didn't already come yet?
these forms are believe to be the Traveler, Veil and Vex
Vex are radiolaria that is sentient
Who is the gardener and the winnower
Metaphors
Let me guess cosmic beings
Light and Darkness
keep in mind this entire section is entirely only an idea
we have no idea if it's true
Oh
So yeah
The Gardener becomes a massive ball
this next bit we can tell is true
An alien species finds the Gardener
this is making me feel "dont make me turn the car around" vibe
And it enlightens them
So is cayde a robot iv seen pictures and memes of him
They have a Golden Age
We get there when we get there
The First Species however decides they need more
a purpose
and as such they learn of the Veil and search for it
Through it they learn of the darkness
wait a minute there's a cutscene for this
"Before you can confront The Witness, you must understand it."
This cinematic features art created by community artist Julian Faylona, @ELEMENTJ21 on Twitter.

@barren kite
Thanks
And now I sleep
So the witness is an entire race combined into one being?
i mean, hive lightbearer knights can use citan's rampart barricades and theyre definitely not wearing citans 😭
granted, thats also just a gameplay thing, but even still i don't assume a piece of armor could like, modify light
And the witness is after the gardener
And the veil
well they had it before just as said in the vid
they studied it then leave to try and do something about the giant ball
But then they discovered the light
well they always exist, they even uses it to prosper just like in the vid
they just think the giant ball is trying some shit
and after studying the veil they see how the thing can be harmful
what's funny is now we know fully about the witness
but still near nothing about the ball lul
maybe next expansion will explain but Im not holding my breath
Well we can effectively say the Traveller and Gardener are one in the same
Dreams of Alpha Luphi and other stuff pretty much confirm they are
Which explains the Traveller pretty well
So they use the veil as a weapon
Somewhat of a weapon
The veil forged a link between them
Allowing the Witness to enter it
The Witness can now create what it believes to be the final shape
That’s what the cutscene implies at least
Shape reality to what it wants
Alright so the light is that giant ball in the beginning correct
Exactly what the Gardener was against
The Traveller/Gardener
It represents the light
Gifts it
Ok and that little black orb on top is the veil
The light can only be gifted
its not really "the" light
Yes
That’s is indeed the veil
for the next stuff it mainly just goes around terraforming planets after the great escape
So they studied the veil
and then it do the same when we found it
Namely Lubrae and Riis
It left Lubrae and they fell into chaos
Eventually this chaos allowed Rhulk to go ham
Blah blah he shattered the sun
Now he’s the Witness’ right hand man
Or was
we didnt became the guardian quick btw it didnt even do anything yet
He got demoted and then we killed him
And they found out about the positive and negitive things the light could right?
it was only after the earth almost got wiped out is when the thing tried to help
Possibly
We aren’t entirely sure what the Witness saw
And the veil left right?
From what we know
The Witness kept the veil
The light?
So now the witness is trying to find the light
Traveller = light
Veil = dark
Was
Uh
Lightfall happened
The link between the veil and traveller was forged
Summary or like everything
Because if we go into everything there’s a lot of backstory we gotta go into
Summary
Veil was hidden on Neptune after the Witness lost it and he sends his disciple Calus to retrieve and destroy it
The Witness makes the link and opens a portal to a place possibly inside the traveller
And did calus succeed?
Kinda
Kinda what happened
Calus was given a device known as the radial mast
It would forge the link and destroy the veil
We destroyed it
Calus then breaks into the veils containment
We kill Calus
Wait so we destroyed the device or the veil
The Witness takes control of our ghost and makes the link
The device
The radial mast is an abundance of light energy
Made to forge the link with the veil and destroy it afterwards
basically, what the witness needed was something related to light so it could use the veil to make the portal
we destroyed the radial mast
What's a ghost is it a legitimate ghost or an Acronym
so the witness tricked us and used our ghost
not an acronym
ghosts are just what they're called
But what is it exactly
And we are guardians?
So we are the witnesses pawns?
No
depends
We are no pawns
the witness has tricked us before
Well the Witness attempted to recruit us
we're very much trying to go against the witness but sometimes it has good chess plays
the ending of lightfall was literally the witness just tricking us
calus wouldn't have been able to do anything to the veil
he just tricked us into going there as fast as we could so ghost could be compromised
Yeah Calus is another big story
Lightfall is just a bunch of converging story points
Soteria
Ishtar
Osiris
Calus
Nezarec and Savathun
The Witness
Whole bunch of shit
Ended up crowding together
But that’s not the topic
Together the Veil and Traveller allowed the Witness to create a portal
Where to
We have no idea
But if we take what Ahsa says literally then it can reshape reality
So we gotta fight a reality warping guy with guns
From what i know about this game it has guns idk if theres powers or swords or stuff i should have watched some game play
If we go back to throwing hands against a reality warping monster and won it, that would be crazy as hell
titans
Is that a class?
but seriously tho, if we ended up throwing hands against the witness that would be crazy
ah yeah, titans are your usual warrior/tank type in rpg sense
So DPS
hunters are like rogues/assassin types
warlocks are mage/healer(?)
anyway it depends on you what class makes you comfortable
i use all 3 but i prefer to use hunter if i am doing solo, titan if pvp, warlocks if i am with some peps
So titans can throw hands
So can every class use a Blaster or is it only for one class
a blaster?
They all use gun
Gun
Every class uses the same guns (small exception for 2 things)
And the abilities are what differentiates the classes
For me its if it shoots bullets its a gun and if it shoots lasers i call it a blaster
Well we got actual lasers too

Might be worth looking into
uh kinda?
spears? kinda its glaive ,you can shoot or you can melee with it
Close enough I'll take it
super(or ultimate) wise yeah
hunters can throw knives, if you got precision kills with the throwing knife it replenish it
Is it silent
Depends on the knife youre using lol
Can be
But you dont do stealth in destiny
if u want to go stealth....there is no stealth in this game sadly
Even with invisibility options youre always in the fight
or doing double jump(class based) since they can hear it
Is there a sword
yes
A lot of swords
plenty
Can i deflect bullets with any of them
No
hunters only got a unique stance animation with goldtusk
Theres chainsword tho
You know what thats so cool that I'll completely ignore that i cant deflect any bullets
sadly no, but if u want that feel of blocking or deflecting bullets play MGR or warframe
anyway
yeah the lament(the chainsword) is a cool sword
Whats the worst weapon in the game
damn
uhhh can anyone help me here?
there are niche weapons but they are surpassed by others
so they are mostly ignored
lore wise?
if we talk about exotics( rpg wise, named and orange tier gears)
Gameplay and lore wise
the white 120 handcannon is probably the worst talking gameplay
legendary varies on user's preferences or what community agrees to be the best roll (purple tier weapons rpg wise)
Lore wise there is no such thing as the weakest gun
broken traveler's chosen probably
that thing was barely holding together
Still found that more usable than the white 120 hc
This thing?
Thats the exotic version
Loooks fine to me
That one is actually pretty cool
Oh
Probably
A little?
Anyway for more gameplay questions you should probably head to #❓destiny-questions or #✨destiny-discussion
Lore stuff you can just ask here
Forgot i was in lore chat mb thanks

No, Goku would have a better opponent with the Witness with how physics breaking his is
Give me a bit to catch up
We are baby guardian, only a decade old, these are the most basic supers but we have practiced them a lot and trying to think of anything else will take time
You can also interpret the subclass updates as us studying again to improve our Light handling capabilities
It's like a degree, sort of. You can get another degree in another subject, or you can go hard into one field and get a doctorate in Nova Bomb.
yeah i would still like to see if we can combine 2(light/dark) supers or 1 light and 1 dark supers
Just
lore wise
Activate a light and dark super at the same time
dont think it will be possible in game and it would probably a nightmare to balance
Stormcaller slide melee into a group of shadow Legion and blast them in the face with needlestorm
Biblically accurate needleskating
Be afraid
chaos reach...but a beam of pure light with the well
from up above instead
orbital laser i guess?
yeah yeah, anyway imagine throwing the sword in the air and it goes with a solar beam lore wise it would
hmmm sounds lame if its only one
make that 3 swords
In my fanon, my d2 titan mixes elements on the fly. Suppressor nade, Arc Shoulder Charge, Lorelei Barricades, and Banner Shield. An element for every job.
It’s neat, but yeah there’s a limitation because even Guardians are not Gods
If you’d like to continue discussing fanon or near subclass combos, you can probably continue in #✨destiny-discussion
aight
Yoo
I cant belive that the nine is probobaly going to help us understand the vail
Because the nine knows that if we die they die lol
what would they know about it
They have been here longer then most people
the nine are unironically just a bunch of idiots
yes but
this isn’t their area of expertise at all
The drifter has been with us for this season and he also does keep talking about the 9, pluss the nine will die if we die
The Nine were mentioned merely once this season.
Drifter's involvement doesn't mean the Nine will be involved, either. He's been around plenty of times without their interaction.
yes
But yes, the Nine are tied to the life and gravitational forces of Sol.
However, they're also searching for ways to become independant from those ties. Free. Some look to the paracausality they don't have.
If some of them look to the Witness...
Well. We can't say for sure they'll help us.
But we also cant sey they wont
If anything, think they will help us until they can hijack the Witness plan
It's gonna try to reshape the entire universe
and can actually pull it off
Sure. There's a possibility for it.
the baseline is your logic of “they don’t want to die” doesn’t really work
I mean, Eramis keeps claiming she only wants the best for the Eliksni
The Nine know even less than us about Paracausality
when she’s working directly under the witness
But the nine know alot more then us though
prophecy isn’t much knowledge on light or darkness
They themselves only have an extent to their knowledge
They are just stupid in some areas
it was literally only their opinion on it
an opinion that’s not really much of a hot take
it’s also pretty inaccurate in most cases
The real question here is Savathun
She knew of the Witness origins if her "two truths, two lies" games were any indication
Yes and no
there’s honestly not really anything we need him for currently
and nothing we’d like to cooperate with after everything that happened
I doubt Clovis would ever want to cooperate with Eramis
Clovis will try and backstab us if anything
he’s not a “forgive and forget” type
salvation is the main reason a big portion of his material legacy almost went up in a nuclear cataclysm
plus they’re just constantly trying to pillage his facilities
honestly he might tolerate a partnership with Eramis, if he were fully convinced he’d be able to double cross her and get whatever he wanted from it
but I really don’t know what either would do for each other to warrant it in the first place
If Clovis is making a comeback, I would suspect his sights would be on Neomuna and the Veil
Whole place has the whole virtual reality Cloudark. So even as a giant head Clovis could wreck havoc in there
Heck.. they may even be dumb enough to open the door for him as a "great survivor of the Golden Age!"
Mmmm
can’t wait for neomuna civil news to proclaim him as the second coming
Gotta remember Clovis sanitized his reputation in the Golden Age.
The general public had no idea how villainous he was
We are going to see Taniks in the final shape
banshee going to neptune would really be something
nah
Taniks is yesterday’s news
it’s all about Kelgorath now
Bungie would do that though
Ya reskin
Taniks in a sitcom rivalry with Cayde
But yeah
More seriously, Neomuna's government conspiracy likely may see Clovis as an ally given their actions thus far.
Ye most likely
And with the trick Clovis tried on us in Seraph...
capybara hour does a crossover with the europa colony penguin
The exo stranger was on that though
Bungie is doing everything they can to dance around the issue. But it looks like Neomuna has "Clovis 2.0" in its government
Oh
Redacted records, Maya going "fuck morality! It's MY turn"
And basic information lost even to its chief defenders
We gonna watch another vex invasion like glassway
Give you an idea Nexus.. Nimbus had no idea the Veil was found on Neptune
the hive have been trying to revive oryx for a while now
plus Savathun’s horde are a bunch of heretics who only have Immaru for leadership right now
any advantage they could get they want
which includes finding oryx’s corpse and hoping to resurrect him
So.. yeah. Someone in Neomunas government wants people being utterly ignorant and complacent
though they were mixing Xol’s brand of necromancy in
Where do u think they are going to move his bones too
being different than being a Lightbearer, he’d still retain his memories
so
Oryx finding out an entire brood of heretics brought him back to life
he wouldn’t be very happy
"Drifters freezer"
either way it’s a good thing they never succeeded
Gotta wonder what happened after ghost, did we retrieve the body? Is this a nokris situation where the boss keeps coming back? (Probably not since smashed ghost)
Nokris only came back once
and that was during arrivals
because he never really died properly
Ah
I’ve seen the fanart, it’s eh
it’d be a vastly different situation
Also
and also a lame one
Oryx is dead
bringing him back undermines a whole bunch of stuff and there’s no real reason for it
Lore wise, you think lightbearer savathun or oryx before we weakened him was more powerful?
the entire reason Savathun became a Lightbearer is because she wanted to be one
Forcept the witness
oryx by a long shot
I see
remember that oryx being as big as he is in the raid
Nice
is him while he’s crippled
Also
that giant monster is him when he’s severely weakened
Was watching a byf video, what is the circuit and why did the Warpriest clear it a bunch of times
I have no idea what that is
F
if I had to take a guess it’d be some hive sport or training thing
and the warpriest is the warpriest so he’d probably do it a bunch
From what I heard in the video, it relates to the amount of planets oryx subjected
Gimme a sec to find it
Around the oryx section of this video https://youtu.be/JET7Zc9jReE
Destiny 2's Lore contains staggering details on the power of the many raid bosses that we've faced over the years. But which raid boss is the most powerful according to the lore? Today I went through each final raid boss and gave them a tier ranking according to their power in the lore!
Subscribe to My name is Byf: http://www.youtube.com/subscr...
Yes that old video
10 minute mark (around that)
Kek
atheon doesn’t really have any either
Every raid boss
they were just built for one specific thing
and did that specific thing
you just can’t compare that to something like riven or Calus

Seems so.
It was bound to happen one of these Seasons before Final Shape.
I'm... not sure tbh
new mission is pog tbf
i've wanted a team up with a powerful hive tbh
as we have fallen and cabal with us
honestly I'm dissapointed, not because it wasn't good enough, but because I've come to expect way more from xivu
Considering she has her memories back... and we're all essentially aligned towards the same goal...
I don't think she'll betray us but-
every time she's mentioned i just assume she's gonna pop out of some corner the moment we do anything big
she's still the God of Trickery.
true, xivu has been nothing but a voice in this season. why build all that up again for nothing
also she almost killed zavala
only almost... because they couldn't do that big blue
even though that could set up an incrdible season next season
well
take revenge against xivu and partner up with savathun
they had to pick one
that would be a season to be remembered
I don't think they can really have both a "zavala just died" and a "we're bringing back savathun" season at the same time
it's almost too much for a seasonal story
although the witness was revealed this season
Plus, he's not exactly Lightless
He's still a Lightbearer
so
and the traveller left earth in seraph
death doesn't mean much unless she goes after the Ghost
considering we got more out of a Deep cutscene last week, that's already more important than entirety of LF
it's xivu
she would definitely do that
Ghosts don't exactly have to come out when we die too iirc.
Zavala's Ghost could just... like... wait.
im like 99% sure once you die your ghost does have to come out
Ah yes, my favorite gun in Destiny: Chekov's Gun
ok I'm listening to the transmission
no way he mentioned safiyah
and then went on to talk about the noodle shop immediately after
Well based on how it worked with Kelgorath there seems to be a sort of psychic link when you Take someone, and I've guessing the orbs were causing some sort of painful psychic feedback to disrupt the process or something
why laugh tho
anyways veil containment time
my game crashed halfway through listening to it, anything interesting mentioned?
not really
but there was definitely interesting stuff in the veil log
"a symphony of minds"?
i think maya was trying to do something like the witness
Ok. This may have something to do with lore. But I gave a fish after listening to everything and after doing the mission...and it gave me some kind of broken blade?
Yeah each week starting with last a new Exotic fish became available, starting with the Throne World, this week Nessus, you catch it, bank it, it gives you an item to deposit at the Thrall statues in Deep Dive, almost certainly once we have all 3 next week it'll unlock the new Exotic quest
I mean yeah that was the most obvious Chekov's Gun in existence
There was absolutely no question that she'd be back eventually
ahhhh ok got it
not even fair to call it a chekov's gun
it's outright stated multiple times that she can come back
so last weeks exotic fish was the first one right?
Pretty much called it there.. and Maya won with it
What they are talking about.. look behind you in the room. It's the start of the Cloudark
ok so
yes kind of
but also
the cloudark is very different from what the witness is
Yep.
Still.. seems like everything for the "orchestra" is all set up.. it's just missing the director
And there's a Savathun sized hole behind Neomuna that has been barely addressed...
Here's hoping that with Savathun coming back we'll get some answers
Finale mission this season is likely gonna be bringing savathuns corpse back to the throne world... heh
So we are crossing that line...
Maras gonna cause a shitstorm over this
can anyone send this weeks story quest spoilers pls?
It's simple. We must revive Savathun
pretty much
All we literally have to do is throw her corpse back into the Throne World lol
Yeet
It's just dead air for the rest of the season. Cliffhanger
Stupid seasonal model
As for the Veil
The Guardian decrypts a seventh research log from Veil Containment's archive.
**
Chioma Esi: Chioma Esi, research log: Veil interface. Maya and I have finalized a prototype interface for the Veil. Hopefully, it'll allow our research team to investigate it in detail. The system's designed like an orchestra, with a central "conductor" directing...
If can't figure it out.. what they are talking about is the start of the Cloudark in the video
You still on about that? That's not what they mean
The Veil IS the "director," it's the control unit directing the communication between minds, but that's still not like what the Witness is, this is a a "distributed network"
It's peer to peer human minds
Each mind can communicate with every other mind but they're all individual
Nah, listen to Maya in the video
Her system is set up like that
I did I'm quoting her verbatim
She uses the term "distributed network"
A network configuration where every participant can communicate with one another without going through a centralized point. Since there are multiple pathways for communication, the loss of any participant will not prevent communication. This is also known as peer-to-peer network.
Ask yourself this
If Maya didn't win in the end.. why would Cloudark still being used?
Esi having a breakdown at the moral implications...
I don't see how that's relevant
She describes the technology they invented which is still in use today
You cant live forever in the cloud ark right?
No because your mind is still attached to your body
The CloudArk is an interface you hook up to
Which facilitates networking between the interfaced minds
Peer to peer style
i wonder how many people died just to make the funny neomuna metaverse
Likely.. yes actually. They throw bodies in "cryo"
Still alive and need to be fed.. but definitely can slow down aging
You have to think on who is pushing all this. Maya was "corrupted" and clearly had an ulterior motive
Oh what is it
lmao I thought the iron war beasts were legit just a bunch of war beasts not actual cabal soldiers
anyways despite everything this season's ending was actually really good
Likely an attempt to create Witness like entity.. or Savathun pulling a stunt behind the scenes
mission was meh but the leadup to next season is very good, we know who'll be the major players and we can expect some things while having some stuff left in the dark as to what exactly needs to be done
2 more seasons to go thats crazy
wish we got some more stuff with xivu arath though, while I am guessing we'll get more next season I feel like she just wasn't as big of a presence as she could've been
Considering Savathun is coming back? Likely will see Savathun and Xivu snarking at each other
That's too close a relationship to just be ignored
it gets ignored until the season after next
I really hope we don't have a super long "BUT CAN WE TRUST SAVATHUN?" part of the plot and we get to actually doing shit so we're not stuck waiting for 5 weeks until soemthing actually happens
we wait 5 weeks for something to happen
Yeah.. sorry but that's the rest of the season
I want to feel like things happen again like in chosen and splicer
There's literally nothing stopping us from dumping savathuns corpse in her throne world right now besides Bungie
Probably not given the convo at the HELM this week
Zavala basically says "yeah we don't trust her, Ikora and Eris will keep her in check and if she sticks a claw out of line we'll put her down"
Daddy immaru
Yeah but that doesn't change what the technology is, regardless of ulterior motives Esi was one of the people who designed it, she knows what it is and how it works
That said I should kinda apologize, I was being an asshole with how I was arguing before, I just think you're trying to hard to see something that you think is cool but isn't there
spider probably owes one of us a favor
he can probably whip up a ghost bomb for us
Isnt spider wanted by mara
she's not really interested in taking him in right now, more important stuff at hand
Is she still holdin her hands up at the farm
I believe she's aware of his situation at the tower but put her pride aside until he does something bad
Oh hes at the tower?
That's the failure of your view there actually. Just listen to Esi breakdown she Wants to stop. If it was up to her.. Cloudark wouldn't exist... but it does and we have seen this pattern before with Clovis Bray
yeah we captured/rescued him in plunder
Plus trying to go in there to take him out would probably be a wholeincident
And all his cool stuff?
some of it
Golden age exotics here we come
All the good Clovis did, but we saw his true nature and his end goal
relics and whatnot
he resides with the rest of the eliksni and is treated as an equal
Be funny if they hung up his mona lisa painting somewhere
mostly
