Generally in the early game just play what looks fun

This is a late response but to add to what alex responded with; don't worry about builds and such this early, focus on doing fun stuff, getting campaign stuff done, unlocking things through whatever missions you have available (like the savathuns throne world enclave unlock)
Once you feel confident to farm towards late game, you can begin to work on getting gear for builds (do NOT half ass builds) then try out Dungeons, raids, and such

Oh but a quick limited time thing you should do immediately, go to eteneity-->rite of the nine and grab the gift of the nine, everything in it
