Nighthawk does its damage in about a second.
Silkstrike takes about 20 times as long for marginally more damage, and you have to be up close, and the actual inputs are awkward. Way more situational for no real benefit other than ad clear and movement.

The benefit of Golden Gun/Nighthawk is that you can fire and then keep doing DPS with your actual weapons, resulting in a far higher total damage.

Damage in short time better than more damage over longer time. If it takes 60s to deal 10 million damage but damage phases for bosses are rarely over 20s, it's probably not as good as it might look on paper
