I still think Mothkeepers and Ex Diris have more potential than people give them credit for, mind you, but the point is that Exotic designers aren't always coming up with the gameplay niche to fill, just fun ideas to create.

Disagree, cataclysm is meant for a quick high amount of burst damage, and even without SeS it can do a big chunk of a boss. Vortex works better on large groups of enemies, sucking them in and denying an area for a bit.
