Congrats on getting it done! However, you should probably do some more normal raids/master dungeons/GM content before you do more master challenges. Not trying to dogpile on you, but I think you would save yourself a lot of headache in the future. 8 hours is a long time to be doing one thing, no matter what it is.

how many clears should i have?

I had 11 KF fresh clears prior to doing this and thought it was enough. other teamates had 20+

Not a set requirement, but you should feel comfortable with the raid and all the mechanics, and also be aware of the challenges before attempting them. You should also be comfortable fighting against and surviving against master level enemies

If you’re in a raid for 8 hours, it’s very likely that what went wrong is one of those two things (or both)

yes, we did a normal mode challenge run before doing it. I do GMS quite often at a decent pace with good builds so I assumed it was enough.
But the main thing was teamwork, lots of people wasn't focusing.
