Since the pieces of your outfit mainly consist of primary and secondary plating with some leather, it's gonna use the middle and outer diamond for the most part

The right quadrant is the primary cloth, usually most cloaks use that one

With a few exceptions of course. For example, put on the newest iron banner cloak and then you'll have some red

While Superblack is definitely a crutch in my opinion, and has almost never created an outfit that I find visually interesting, it's all about personal preference. I've seen some people use it to great effect to create a Taken look, and I've seen people slap it on every piece and drown out any semblance of detail or contrast
