Jedi robes are very thick and imo would be very hard to do in Destiny. It would be the same of the tried to give them Gandalf robes or something.
Royal guard robes however look much thinner and so it wouldn't be too hard to bring that into the game and model them into warlock robes.

I used to play the game casually with pvp but never spent money on it so never got to do the main story, now that I did since it's massively on sale, I am starting the game over about to ACTUALLY play for the first time technically and this is the starter gear I put together, eventually plan on everything being black silver and gold. At least did my best to try making him look like he's been dead a long time but over all I'm pretty happy with how the outfit turned out for just using starter gear.
