My guess is Queensfoil applies an effect that affects the entire model whereas shaders are just a colour palette that is assigned to certain parts of whatever item you put it on and so for a Taken shader to work we'd need the shader to apply itself to armour pieces in ways it assumedly isn't programmed to do

Plus a part of the Taken aesthetic is that smokey energy and shaders just can't do external particle effects

It'd probably take a large majority of the player base asking for it for Bungie to even consider it since who knows what effect rewriting the shader system again could have on the existing stuff

Yeah they're old but I doubt they'll make a D3. At most maybe they'll pull another Beyond Light and give us another big update to everything

But I wouldn't put it past them since the code my just be too old to paint over anymore like Smite is doing
