If I had to guess, they think that fashion has to be something you have to meticulously put thought into to make something good, i.e. no repeating shaders or armor pieces. If someone doesn't do that, they see it as "taking a shortcut" and that, because they spent so much time on their fashion, the "cheap" one sucks due to not being as intricate
