Basically, get a white/green/blue/purple piece of armor of your choice, talk to the lovely exo lady in the tower's basement, get one of her synthweave bounties, complete it, take your synthweave to that machine behind the basment dwelling exo lady, and now you have a synthcord that you can use on any armor piece you want (minus exotics, those are they're own thing)
