Hello everyone. I'm an old Destiny player who started playing in Year 1 Destiny 1 and am shocked to see that this game is coming to an end (in terms of live service). I played D2 at launch up until the 2nd dlc and basically left it since then. I returned sparingly during forsaken, and witch queen but pretty much haven't played consistently at all since launch. In fact I rarely game anymore in general.

That being said with the recent sad news I would like to come back and finish the main story of the light and dark saga and send this beloved game away that I spent many hundreds of hours on. I've caught up with all the lore up until The Final Shape.

I also recently finished the lightfall and final shape campaigns and would like to know what I need to effectively complete the salvations edge raid. Destiny has changed so much since I've last played consistently so I'm completely out of the loop.

If I understand correctly, the default difficulty for Salvation's Edge does not have power enabled? What are the next steps I should take to finish the light/dark saga and the raid? What weapons/builds etc do I need and how can I get them as soon as possible? This is all I care about. I don't care about the new dlcs or any other high end activities.

Also if it makes it any easier, should I wait for the final June update?

the typical dps builds for raids involve parasite/finalitys augur/whirling ovation + a rocket frame pulse rifle. There are exceptions, for example when youre at close ranges you should use a praxic blade or wolfsbane

I think what you are thinking of is the subclass starter kits ikora gives out after you have completed new light and gotten to the tower. If you select void you get graviton lance, or if you select solar you get sunshot, or if you select arc you get riskrunner (which you get from an early quest anyway so don't pick that one). Sunshot and graviton lance are some of the best exotic primaries in the game tho.

I saw on the recent post that some armor will be converting to T5 and if im not mistaken T5 armor only starts dropping at a certain power level right? so thats why i was thinking maybe some old gear will be pushed to the new power
