Dying to hands (but no info on when in the encounter this is happening) and your damage being "booty" isn't really useful. If you don't have enough understanding of the encounter to know why things are going badly, then record a clip of a run or something.

I don't understand how/why you're getting shredded by the hands during DPS. They don't do enough damage to kill you instantly, so unless you're literally just ignoring them the whole phase (which there's no reason to do) they shouldn't be killing you. As far as compel vs kill, compelling gives you a longer damage phase but a shorter damage threshold (and damage will end early if you clear the threshold). I had a fairly comfortable 3 (it was just barely more than 2) phase with 4 compels + 1 kill.

It IS a glitch but chunking itself has been a glitch for so long they're probably not going to patch it for a while. They've done specific fixes for stuff that causes chunking, which they might do for contra holds if they feel it's necessary to nerf

I have wanted to play D2 for a bit now. Tried the F2P experience a few years back but got quickly bummed out as it was essentially the tutorial with nothing else and the fact that paid content was removed previously made me wary.

I just noticed that on steam, DLCs like The Witch Queen and Lightfall are ridiculously cheap. would one of those suffice for a new player experience? or do I need the full roster of avaliable DLCs to actually play the game? (note: I am quite broke atm so I will not be getting em any time soon)
