Hi I have never played Destiny 2 before, although I played Destiny 1 and Destiny Rising is what got me into considering playing Destiny 2.

I have a gaming laptop with a 500gb SSD drive, and 325gb of free space. I was reading online that you need 330 gb of free space to update/install Destiny 2?

Is my 500gb harddrive going to be an issue for Destiny 2?

I can't play Ark:Survival Ascended becuase the filesize has gotten so big that in order to update the game I need to uninstall it and redownload the game, every time...

Am I going to have the same issue with Destiny 2?

destiny 2's install size is 142gb, you'll be just fine

the only reason you might "need" 300gb to update is for when the update requires redownloading the whole game, after which it gets rid of the old files completely

to avoid this you can also just delete and redownload the game once the update is out if needed

Thanks for the info. From my research its not that Steam is redownloading the whole game, it is that steam is making a copy of the game to update. I live in an area where internet speeds are only about 72 megabits per second (9 megabytes per/s download)... So it takes half a day to download 100 gb.

I dont really want to be uninstalling and redownloading Destiny 2 every time it updates.

Are any other gamers on here who have a 500gb harddrive and how has your experience been updating/installing the game? Have you run into any "not enough diskspace" errors on steam?

I have a weird question, I'm a casual D2 player, I come and go for a short while every year or two, and every time all my items and character level are reset to a new minimum or whatever, so my question is, wtf is the point of progression exactly if every little while everything is "reset"?

I wanna have a reason to truly progress, can someone explain how (or if) that even happens? Is it all about earning exotic items, or is there more to it?

Good question. I run it on Prismatic or Void with Stylish Executioner to go invis with a debuff kill. I pair it with a weapon that already has Destabilizing Rounds for the Volatile Rounds but any weapon that grants a debuff would work. Then it's just a loop of debuff something > kill it > go invisible > use volatile rounds to debuff another enemy > kill it > go invis > repeat
