There's 3 champion types and they're designed to have mechanics that you can't really deal with, but you can stun them using anti-champion effects, after which they take a ton of extra damage and can't move or attack

The seasonal artifact makes certain weapons inherently anti champion and a bunch of subclass verbs do it too

It's RNG. No, the game is not bugged for you, or broken, it's simply bad luck.

• Bungie does not publish drop rates.
• We don't know how many estimated runs it will take for a specific item to drop.
• We do not know how much drop-rate-boosting triumphs contribute either, since we don't know the base drop rate.
• Runs are all separate environments. A 1/3 chance does not mean you get the loot you want one out of three times, it just means there is that percentage of chance whenever you run the activity that you get said loot.
• Perks are not weighted. All weapons drop with their perks at the same rate.

your only other option rn is portal where you get one and then the drop rate is shit
