maybe i wasn’t clear, exotic missions can appear in two places: the exotic mission rotator in the legends tab of director or in the pinnacle ops section of portal. if you launch the mission through the director, you should get it first try guaranteed. if you launch through portal, it isn’t guaranteed but chance of dropping increases with A rank

I understand this will be a noob question, sorry in advance, but I have only started playing the game yesterday and am a bit overwhelmed by the majority of options available.

I would like to know how does one access the story campaigns in full? I downloaded the base game which is free. I then try to begin one of the campaigns which is Clyde's Fate, but despite the option saying this is a campaign, it only seems to comprise of one mission - the one taking place in a prison, where Clyde meets his demise at the end. Then I return to the ship and there doesn't seem to be any type of consecutive missions. When trying to choose the same campaign I go back to the same prison mission.

Does the base game comprise of only demos of the campaigns or am I doing something wrong? I would like to experience the story in a fairly chronological order, hence I chose the earliest possible mission, but I understand there is quite a lot of story to go through further along the way. I'm just not sure how to access it.

Generally, all campaigns have a free intro mission, and the rest of the campaign is locked behind the actual expansion. Beyond Light and Shadowkeep are exceptions, as their campaigns - and the subclass in Beyond Light - are free.

But currently, as Dallagen said, it's a free access week.

Timeline Missions aren't campaigns, nor are they pretending to be. They are single missions that exist to say "this is a big event that happened so you understand some story points".
