raids are generally speaking mechanically designed for 6, a lot are doable with 4 but i dont recommend it just because it makes both the boss damage and add clear a lot harder than it has to be

with a group of 4 though you probably wouldnt have a ton of trouble finding a sherpa in the bigger lfg server though, would help for both teaching the raid and filling slots

the only raids off the top of my head that would be genuinely reasonable to do fresh with 4 people without having to consult lowman guides or put a lot of responsibility on people who dont even know one role well yet are prob crota/RoN?

every howl of the storm cast is giving you pretty much max frost armor instantly and refunding your melee while it's at it plus really good add clear

and 200 super howl of the storm spamming does crazy damage to most bosses

glacial quake is also one of the fastest charging supers in the game rn

you're missing healing but you can either use icefall mantle to heal 60 health per howl of the storm or cover healing with something else and use syntho to do a shitton of damage

Riskrunner is pretty decent at add clear I find. If you're having trouble getting the perk to start, you can throw your grenade at your feet to take Arc damage from yourself to jump start it.

As for a primary slot option, I think a lot of people are running Mint Retrograde, which sounds like one of the better weapons for the slot. And it's also Strand with rockets kinda like Quicksilver!

Any current season/tiered weapon is probably the best choice for the weapon type right now due to seasonal weapon bonuses

Not exactly

Old weapons are roughly equivalent to like what a tier 2 or 3 is right now

And that's most of the actual value anyway

Tier 4 and 5 for the most part are just some small stat bonuses and a small damage buff due to being featured gear and the bonus scaling off the gear tier

A good old weapon is still good and the system is changing to make older gear less irrelevant in renegades as well

There's not good alternatives for every single weapon type in the new system as well

A benefit of the tiered weapons though is for the most part getting a good roll is really easy

Instead of gambling for each perk column to hit a 1 in 8 from the start the current system was kinda designed to make the good rolls more common but you might wait until you are 450 power to start gambling with much better odds and so you get t5s

But they sped power up so much now it's just really free to get tier 5s

300-450 isn't that long of a grind at all

Heavyweight is double damage heavy weapons, the solar surge is 1.25x damage solar weps, the third one is 140% bonus precision damage

Altogether it's a ridiculous damage multiplier for any solar heavy wep that can crit
