Here's how it works. They've generally removed seasonal storylines and made the seasonal content free for everyone. They have changed to 2 paid DLCs per year, every six months. Coincidentally, seasons now last for six months, the duration of the DLC. During the first 3 months of the season, there is one content pass with all sorts of rewards. Then at the halfway point, they'll do a season refresh (ash & iron) and another 3 month content pass. The season will finally end when the new DLC (renegades) drops

Also, when the season ends, anyone above 200 power will reset back down to 200 to give new/returning players a chance to catch up and start on even grounds with everyone for the new DLC

They've been reworking a lot of exotic armor and some weapons, you'll have to look that up on your own.
The first new seasonal exotic, Third Iteration, comes from the content pass and can be earned for free, though you only have 5 days left to do it (will be able to get it later though).
All new weapons and armor have Tiers, it's the new rarity system. You can earn a lot of tiered gear through activities in the Portal, and everything in the Portal is free (except the DLC itself). And most of the Portal weapons and armor are extremely good right now

Can anyone tell me after all the changes, what is better for pure survivability in masters or GM content: warlock with well of radiance, edge of intent (healing glaive) and phoneix protocol or Titan with ward of dawn/helm saint 14 + Vexcalibur or edge of action (mini bubbles giving full overshield) ? The titan can give nonstop over shields, probably more than the warlock can give restoration. I think the damage resistance is also much higher on overshield, like 70% vs wells 10-20%.
So in battlegrounds (or other content with tons of enemies) is a void titan maybe better than a warlock with Well?
Inside Ward you get 60% DR + overshield. Well of radiance is 10% DR
Edit: google AI says Warlock is better, while chat GPT 5 says void titan is better. Interesting lol idk

But the titan would be using Vexcalibur or so, which gives over shields to allies constantly, possibly more often then the warlock can give restoration. Asking cuz in the battleground missions (where there are like 30+ enemies shooting you) I’ve seen people constantly die even with resto X2. Seems like titans over shields with 70% DR might do better? Idk.
I tried both setups, and am dying way more often with warlock than titan. The overshields seem to protect more than Resto X2 (when there’s lots of enemies) but idk

Huh? All I did was ask how void titan builds compared to the warlock/well. A couple people answered, but some just told me “why not try an actual good build?” which isn’t an answer. Yes IK void titan builds aren’t Meta or close, but people can use whatever builds they want. I saw these on YouTube and that’s why I’ve been trying them

And for whatever reason I seem to survive way more often and protect team better playing as a titan with constant overshields (unbreakable + Vexcalibur or edge of action) compared to warlock with constant restoration (via well and edge of intent). But maybe I need to change up the warlock some

Generally in Master+ content, a good offence is the best defense; the less people that are shooting at you, the less damage you take. "Good" builds generally have enough DR and Health regen to not get instagibbed, but then put everything else into snowballing kills and clearing the field.

Defense builds inherently have to work harder since they'll take more damage on average

Swords are a bit strange. Most people use them as a movement tool thanks to the perk "Eager Edge", very rarely attacking enemies with them. However, there are some swords like Ergo Sum, specifically with the Arc Conductor perk, that are good for clearing out enemies, but those setups are fairly specific. Finally, it's advantageous to use swords as a DPS option against certain bosses (like Crota in the Crota's End raid). While many swords are fairly good at this, a few key ones like Bequest can be a bit better than the rest.

you get one chance per character per week

on all dungeons

however all of their legendaries and armor can be farmed infinitely

so that's the tradeoff
