Yeah, played around with it and it makes the Multimach w/ Kinetic Tremors + Attrition Orbs and the Festival Flight w/ Attrition Orbs look so bad

Bungie has something called the Legacy collection which includes all the DLCs. It fairly regularly goes on sale, so I'd highly recommend picking it up then.

Each DLC has some benefit to purchasing it, but the main thing people purchase them for are the subclasses. Lightfall comes with the Strand subclass, and The Final Shape comes with Prismatic. All the DLCs have certain Exotic weapons and armor tied to them that can only be unlocked if you own that DLC, so if there is something specific you want to try, it could be worth getting that one.

The most recent DLC, Edge of Fate, is needed if you're a PVP player and want to participate in the Trials of Osiris mode.

However, now is one of the best times to be a F2P player. Most players are playing activities featured in the Portal, which is free for everyone. And most the top weapons come from free to play sources. So don't feel pressured into buying the DLCs if you're afraid you'll be missing out on popular weapons. Just purchase them if there is something that looks cool (or there's a really good sale haha)

They do not transfer [just] because Sony owns Bungie. They already did not transfer before they were bought. It boils down to, whenever you purchase something from a store on a console, some amount of that money goes to the maker of that console, or store in case of Steam. because kinetic tremors triggers quickly and procs attrition orbs

but with that bow its still not very good even with a god roll

due to its slow fire rate and mediocre overall damage

Good weapon rolls are a bit confusing because each weapon has a god roll, but not every god roll is actually good.

On Mercury-A, no rolls are genuinely good. Either you want a unique combo (like Attrition Orbs + Kinetic Tremors) or you're using it to fill a very specific niche (which is only really common in speed runs or other niche content)

To give you a more direct answer, Kinetic Tremors is a strong perk because it gives you easy access to free AoE damage (that also counts as bonus damage against the target).

It's specifically strong on bow because it only takes 2 arrows (as opposed to something like 5 HC shots or 11 Pulse shots) to trigger it, so it's usually one of the top perks.

However, since you do have to shoot 2 arrows, the speed at which you fire arrows comes into play. A slow-firing bow like Mercury-A will have a harder time triggering it than something like the faster-firing Accrued Redemption.

The one thing Mercury-A has over a normally superior option like Accrued Redemption is that it can get Attrition Orbs, which scale very favorably with bows. This combo of bow-scaled Orbs + Kinetic Tremors is unique to Mercury-A, which makes it worth considering for builds that want a lot of orbs. However, there are other orb-generating weapons that are more favorable than Mercury-A.

It's worse at damage than other Kinetic bows, and any unique combos it has are worse than its non-bow counterparts. It's left in this weird niche where if you wanted orbs and had to use a bow, it'd be the best option, but most the time it's going to be relegated as the 2nd or 3rd choice.

in Mythic loot cave run, 21/21 drops for me were T4, which is great, but no T5.

It’s possible but you’re wasting your time farming for t5 without the upgrade at 450

Sometimes there are some weaponry in pvp that people consider pve meta, but more often times than not you'll be fine not playing that horrid gamemode

yeahh, there's plenty of good gear elsewhere, the few times pvp has something good, it's usually just a niche alternative to something from pvp

There are a few good PVE weapons from PVP modes like Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris, though it's nothing to stress over. Iron Banner is fairly laidback limited time event and easy to farm, Trials of Osiris was getting significantly lower player counts than it so they improved the reward structure.

But like others have said, there are pretty good alternatives in other places, and for ones that don't, you can usually avoid whatever that strategy is and still be okay

The biggest example I can think of is when people wanted the Cataphract GL3 from Trials even though not soon after Edge Transit released from Onslaught and had the same exact perks, except one was Strand and the other was Void
