Getting your exotic collection rounded out is definitely something you should do early on, so here's what I'd go for:

• Sunshot / Graviton Lance / Trinity Ghoul - The holy trio of primary Energy slot add clear. While Trinity Ghoul is a bit more niche in its application, the other two have stood the test of time and continue to be relevant in all forms of PVE content.
• Outbreak Perfected - A great Kinetic Primary, has decent add clear, but really shines as an alternative DPS option (especially when you stack them).
• Choir of One - Likely the best Exotic weapon currently in the game. Extremely ammo efficient as a Special weapon, great for add clear and DPS, easy to use, all around awesome.
• Whisper of the Worm / Parasite (requires Witch Queen) - Though they can be a bit niche, when they're good, they're really good.
• Microcosm (requires Final Shape) - While not the best DPS, it's extremely consistent and easy to use.
• Tractor Cannon - Probably grabbed this after the tutorial, but worth making sure you did. Great in raid content for the debuff it provides.
• Gjallarhorn (requires 30th Anniversary) - Amps up rocket damage, amazing in raids, your team will love you for having it. Also pretty good for add clear.
• Divinity - Another great raid tool, this helps your team hit weak spots and buffs their damage. A lot of people neglect to do this questline, but will love you for having done it.
• Ergo Sum (requires The Final Shape) - A sword with a bunch of random rolls. While there are many that are fun, the main 3 you should look for is a Perfect Fifth (Caster), an Arc Conductor (Wave), and a Wolfpack Rounds (Lightweight). The Wolfpack one in particular works like Gjallarhorn but for Swords.
• D.A.R.C.I. - Recently reworked to become the Gjallarhorn of Snipers, I'm not sure I would go out of my way for it, but it's worth keeping an eye out for it.
• Lord of Wolves - An extremely strong DPS option. Many people suspect it will eat a nerf some time in the future, but it hasn't happened yet.

There are others I'm probably missing, but this should get you started.

Most high end players don't "main" a particular subclass since there is a ton of benefit to swapping depending on needs. Stasis Titan is definitely one of the weaker options though and has been somewhat powercrept by Prismatic

If you purchase the ornaments, they're are permanently on your account. They will leave the shop when the Solstice event ends. They will likely come back next year, but Bungie isn't always the most reliable with this sort of thing, so it's better to assume they will be gone forever.

They are using the old S6 version of the gun, which has a Catalyst slot. The newer S23 version does not, and instead gets its upgrades by crafting

Like most raids, it's a bit of both. The first two encounters are almost entirely add clear and some yellow bars. Most people prefer to use Eager Edge swords in those encounters since there can be a lot of movement. The last two encounters are boss encounters, but the arena flood with adds so you'll still want some decent clear. For Ir Yut, decide on what damage method your team will use (Div + Whisper was popular, but different groups do different things). For Crota, I believe Swords are still meta. Relentless + Whirlwind is fine so long as someone brings a Wolfpack Ergo Sum.

Personally when I hit the 70 range I always went up a difficulty just so I didn’t have to keep changing it. You can get A tier with 0 negative modifiers, and 3 positive ones for yourself
