Destiny Content Vault [(DCV)](#1019968437847593051 message)
Starting November 10, 2020 old content was vaulted because Bungie updated the scripting engine. All activities had to be re-coded and ported over. Content with low playtime (Spire of Stars, Levithan, etc.) was vaulted to save resources and time.

Note: In the 2022 Destiny 2 Showcase, Bungie announced they will no longer vault/sunset Expansions. Seasonal activities will still leave at the end of a Content Year.

id recommend switching your grenade to grapple, with this build, your weapons are just tools to spam transcendence, so you should be relying on spamming abilities and your weapons (mainly velocity baton) to gain a lot of transcendence energy for either side

6v6 is pretty chill, especially during Iron Banner. Trials of Osiris and Competitive queue are where most the sweaty players live.

The only reason to jump into PVP is for the occasional PVE-viable gun, Exotic catalyst progression, or certain seasonal/event challenges.

There is a lot to do outside of the DLCs. For starters, many of the DLCs have post-campaign quests that unlock additional perks for your subclasses or even exclusive Exotic weapons. It can be very worthwhile to go finish these quests.

If you're looking for more PVE content to do outside of the campaigns, there are plenty of options; Vanguard Ops, Nightfalls, Patrols, Onslaught, Dungeons, and Raids. They vary in difficulty and time commitment, with Vanguard Ops being short and easy and Raids being potentially long and difficult.

However, the main reason most players engage with any of this content (other than the joy of simply playing) is for the loot rewards. A lot of in-game motivation is driven by chasing specific Legendary rolls or an elusive Exotic drop. While you're new this can be fairly overwhelming, but picking something to chase after and making that your goal helps demystify some of that post-campaign listlessness.

Dungeons and Raids are evergreen. Previously they "sunset" content like the Leviathan raid, but they haven't done something like that in a while now. The only dungeon content that will be going away are the Rite of the Nine event dungeons, which are just slightly modified versions of the normal dungeons for this event. To clarify further, the only things that will be going away July 15th when the season ends and the new DLC drops are:

• Rite of the Nine event dungeons - Like I mentioned, these are modified versions of the normal dungeons that drop some unique versions of the dungeon weapons. While the modified versions will go away at the end of the season, the regular versions will continue to remain.
• Episode Echoes - This includes Breach Executable and the Battlegrounds activity. It is likely that the Enigma Protocol mission will also go away. The Encore Exotic mission will likely be added to the Exotic mission rotator for future players to acquire the Choir of One Exotic.
• Episode Revenant - This includes Onslaught: Salvation (not the normal Vanguard Onslaught) and the Tomb of Elders. The Kell's Fall Exotic mission will likely also be added to the Exotic mission rotator.
• Episode Heresy - This includes The Nether and the Court of Blades. The Derealize Exotic mission will likely be added to the Exotic mission rotator. The Sunless Cell nightfall mission will stay.

There is also a chance that many of these seasonal activities return in the future. The new Portal screen that is coming with the Edge of Fate update was shown featuring previous seasonal activities The Coil and Savathun's Spire. To my knowledge, a full announcement hasn't happened yet and we'll likely learn more closer to the DLC's launch.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the choices for what to do, I'd highly recommend fully unlocking as many subclasses as you have access to, and unlocking as many Exotic weapons and armor as you can. A lot of the game will be changing on July 15th, but these items should roughly stay the same, so it makes sense to get them unlocked now.

If you want something specific, do the episode: echoes quest line. This will get you an exotic weapon called Choir of One, which is a really good all-around weapon

So once you grab the 2020 gear that echo was talking about, that’s the max level armor drops at in the game currently

So at that point, you’re mainly focused on finding weapons that have better stats and perks

To fully answer the question tho for the future. It depends. If the legendary weapon (purple) is good, I’d keep the purple. If the weapon is bad, I’d upgrade the exotic

During the tutorial, you should have spoke with Ikora in the Tower, she helps you unlock the Arc, Solar, and Void subclasses. I would work on going through all of her menus and unlocking everything there, it's worth your time to do so.

Once those three are fully unlocked, you can play through the Beyond Light campaign for free, which upon completion will unlock the Stasis subclass. Similar to Ikora, you can speak with one of the campaign characters to further unlock additional skills for that subclass. A similar process exists if you purchase the Lightfall or The Final Shape DLCs for the Strand and Prismatic subclasses.

That’s something you’ll get better at over time by using different weapons and whatnot. A good rule of thumb is that for PvE you will want to focus on getting weapons that have a combination of reload and damage perks. So for example, the best rocket launcher in the game is Hezen Vengeance, which rolls with Envious Arsenal, which is a reload perk, and either Bait and Switch or Elemental Honing, which are both damage perks

Focus mainly on the third and fourth column perks. The perks in the other columns don’t matter nearly as much

For exotics, it’s just learning the meta. Since the rolls are (mostly) static, you just need to know what exotics do the most damage or fill valuable niches

Ah that kinda sucks, does it take very long for the average beginner player to get their first legendary gear?
