If you've already unlocked it from finishing The Final Shape, you should be able to use Precision Decryption at Rahool to get more with different rolls. It will cost 1 Exotic Engram + 3 Ascendant Shards. However, all the armor stats are going through a major change on July 15th when the Edge of Fate releases, so it's probably worth waiting until then.

Yes and no. In PVP, stats can matter quite a bit, so having the right masterwork can be a big deal. In PVE it doesn't matter quite as much, though some people enjoy having the 5/5 groll.

You don't need to pre-Masterwork the weapon if you're enhancing it.

If you haven't already set up Cross Save, do it before the DLC finishes installing. If cross save is fully configured (and configured properly) launching D2 on PS will get you Heresy on both PS and PC. The actual expansions will stay platform-locked, though.

Excluding D1 content, and specifically raids here, seems a little off point. I can fully see them, as they essentially have been, going through and reprising raids in order of release. It makes sense to start with Atheon, then Crota, then Oryx. All we're missing is Aksis and then D1 is covered and they can move on to reprising the old raid lairs.

It's a bit confusing. I believe Shadowfall can be started on the Moon and Beyond Light can be started on Europa. You might have already grabbed the quests for them, so check your quest menu to see if there is anything there.

Outside of story content, you have the strikes you mentioned, but there is also modes like Onslaught that can be fun. And if you want to run a dungeon, the Rite of the Nine event happening now is also F2P

Most of the DLC is good for one reason or another, it just comes down to how much you're willing to spend. The Light and Darkness collection comes with all the DLC (minus like 2 dungeons because of a different payment system), so if you can get that on sale, it's extremely worth it IMO

I was in a similar boat, I played a ton when D2 launched, took a long break and came back around last year. I ended up buying all the DLCs individually, which I don't regret, but the bundle is a much better deal. Previously there was a Humble Bundle sale that had everything for $30, which is incredible.

Your overall power is a combination of a few things. It's an average of all your equipped gear and weapons plus your artifact level.

To add to your confusion, outside of Crucible, certain activities have "fireteam scaling", where it will set you -5 below the highest power level person in your fireteam if you are below them.

That is one of the biggest pain points, the new player experience is pretty lacking. In some ways, I understand though. If you're looking for a specific gun because you watched a video that recommended it, then Bungie figures you're invested enough to look up where to get that gun on your own.

That said, it feels like it wouldn't be that hard for them to add a tiny piece of text that mentions where it's from in the stat block somewhere. I suppose that's what the little symbols are supposed to be in the top left of every weapon icon, but they're not that intuitive for new players.

I was in the same boat. Played a ton during the Red War, quit around Curse of Osiris, came back last year and everything felt completely new. I had hundreds of hours in the game and yet I had no clue where to begin with all the new systems. Like you, if it wasn't for my friends, I would have uninstalled it.

However, it is possible to learn and the game is still a ton of fun. And to credit Bungie the tiniest amount, it looks like they are really trying to change things to help new players. The new Portal screen is similar to games like Fortnite, making it easier to launch relevant activities without having to join some random Discord and ask questions hahaha

This game isn't quite like other MMOs, there isn't a really like a "solid" BiS for each class/subclass/build/whatever. A lot of it depends on the content you're playing, your skill, and your playstyle.

That said, there are some weapons that are generally more widely applicable and recommended. Choir of One is a recent one that works great in a ton of different situations. But even classics like Sunshot are still useful at many levels of the game.

The community has been asking for a training dummy for that exact reason, up until now we've had to use certain bosses that are easier to test on to get any sort of values. But even that can be inconsistent depending on method. Aegis is a top speed runner who makes a lot of science-based content that covers these numbers and records most of it in a spreadsheet for community reference.

Bungie has finally heard the community and will be adding a testing range with the next DLC, so maybe we'll get better numbers going forward

After you defeat all three witches, a giant green pillar will appear in the skybox in the Blooming. Follow it. It’ll take you to a crystal cavern. Remember this. Keep going on the path until you reach a Subjugator. Get it to half health, and it’ll drop an orb. You’ll need to take this orb back to the crystal area and dunk it in the matching light or dark spot. Go back and defeat a second Subjugator for the other one. Dual Destiny will unlock after that.

Raid are really not too bad, the hardest part is just finding a group to try it with haha. You don't need any special builds, just a handful of recommended weapons, and someone patient enough to walk you through the mechanics. In the LFG discords, you can find "Sherpas" that will walk you through the raid and teach you everything you need to know, a lot of really nice folks. If that's not really your thing, you can always just learn each individual encounter and just farm them one at a time. Some of them, like Atheon from the Vault of Glass, are pretty easy and give some really great rewards.

But yeah, the timing on events and updates recently has been so rough with all the other great things happening in gaming recently haha. It can be hard to commit to a D2 grind when there so many other tempting activities out there

If you bought The Final Shape at launch, it came with Episode Echoes (the 1st episode). You can start it with a quest Meteoric on Nessus. If it's not appearing, there is a fairly common glitch that requires you to do the first part of Episode Revenant (Episode 2) first.

I'm sure I've missed things, but this is the main stuff. If I had to recommend anything in particular, it's farming Atheon for Hezen, Prae, and Corrective Measure. Iron Banner is coming up in like a week, be sure to get a decent Tinasha's Chill Clip roll then, especially if you're a big GM Nightfall person.
