I think apothecary can be implemented well. Like the only way we can regain health in this game is stimms or weapon perks that only work if you're below 30% health.
My idea for apothecarys ult would be a special med kit that heals more than normal, heals mortal wounds and can be used on itself or other teammates but with a noticeably long cooldown.

Let the apothecary be a medic but not in the way where you just outheal everything.

I also think it would be cool if the Apothecary had the unique ability to "salvage" gene seed if a teammate drops it but if the Apothecary goes down then you lose it for good.
