Outside's job is a bit more complicated. It's honestly best for one person to take the focus on this while only asking the other two for help if need be. Same as inside, Knights drop shapes, Ogres spawn in to spawn in Knights except on the outside they're unstops. Now for the actual job....

Outside's job is to change the 3D shapes on the outside to matching the final 3D shapes people will get on the inside. They'll be picking up 2D shapes from the Knights, and depositing them on statues to remove them rather than add them to the statues. For example, your statue on the inside has a circle, so you need to end up with a square and a triangle, making a triangular prism. Outside needs to make that prism by removing circles from that statue, while also dissecting the other two statues as well. What this part really comes down to is memorizing which 3D shapes are made up of which 2D shapes, and dissecting accordingly. All three shapes may react as you dissect, so you need to be aware of the changes on the statues.

Issues with the portal:

Ugly, soulless menu you have to open the game up to.
Small loot pool for entire seasons which last for many months and are the same throughout all portal activities. There's no reason to do any of them when you can just do the quickest (they moved the solo ops problem to the rest of the portal lol).
For focused activities, they barely rotate all the missions in, so you'll just see the same ones on repeat anyway.
The portal doesn't even have every activity the game has to offer. You want to play "X" strike? Too bad, not there. You want to do "X" exotic mission? Not there.
