@hexed tide
Thank you.

AdonisJS is definitely inspired by Laravel - the creator has openly said that Laravel’s architecture and developer experience influenced the design.
But AdonisJS is not created by the Laravel team or the Laravel organization.

I completely understand your point.

#

Here’s what I meant: Laravel has achieved a remarkable level of influence, it’s built on PHP. The only reason we see PHP used less frequently today is because new developers are naturally drawn to popular languages like JavaScript or Python. But that trend doesn’t mean PHP is inferior or avoided. PHP has always been an open, accessible, and flexible language - anyone can pick it up and build serious systems with it.

#

Because of that, I believe there’s real value in taking Laravel’s ideas, methodologies, and architectural structures and applying them to other languages as well. It’s not about limiting ourselves to PHP - it’s about allowing the strengths of Laravel’s philosophy to expand into different languages and ecosystems.

#

I wasn’t implying PHP is weak. On the contrary, Laravel proves how powerful PHP can be - and that strength is exactly why I think its principles can succeed beyond a single language.

And Laravel has drawn inspiration from ASPNET and Ruby on Rails, but you don't go ask those people to remake their frameworks in another tech stack completely.

Are you core team member?

I am

I think "Laravel isn't framework or library of programming language"

#

Laravel is ideal philosophy

#

So, I mean

#

It’s not about limiting ourselves to PHP - it’s about allowing the strengths of Laravel’s philosophy to expand into different languages and ecosystems.

It already has

#

It's called Adonis for Node

#

Why can't we do it?

hexed tide
#

I don't think you're grasping the amount of work it has taken for Laravel to get where it is today, you can't just re-create that overnight along with maintaining it for a completely different tech stack.

glacial pier
#

You are right

#

It starts now

hexed tide
#

Nope

glacial pier
#

Wouldn't it be better to continue based on the experience from 10 years ago?

What?

hexed tide

God bless your soul

glacial pier
#

What are you talking about all of a sudden?

hexed tide
#

Well you're unable to see reason so I am praying for god to bless your soul, for the world you have to endure, where things aren't aligned with your vision.

lol

#

bad

Laravel took inspiration from Ruby on Rails, so from your logic, you should go ask them to re-create their framework in Node. Because apparently it isn't good enough someone else was inspired by Laravel to re-create it themselves in another stack 🤷‍♂️

#

It has to be Laravel, nobody else, makes total sense

glacial pier
#

Why do you say it only continues for professional languages? I mean, it shouldn’t be limited to Laravel or any specific “pro” stack. It should be implemented for everyone—for the whole world and for all programming languages.

#

In the future, we will say “Laravel isn't a framework, Laravel is our life.”
