#features for general voice

To be honest, it would be virtually impossible to moderate a voice channel, so for me that's a big no no
Get me mod, I promise I'll sit in voice all day.
I wouldn't mind a voice chat for people to get together in and chill, but yeah it'll be impossible to moderate if there's suddenly screen share of adult content, racial slurs etc.
There would have to be some sort of server contribution role that would allow you to join voice chats then, so "trusted" people could enter, and not someone who just joined.
Here's a good sum up of why this is imho a bad idea; https://medium.com/acm-cscw/voice-based-communities-and-why-they-are-so-hard-to-moderate-b3339c1f0f6a
Even when people do actually report issues it might already been over when a moderator listens in. And it's not just people calling eachother names, also things like someone playing copyrighted music, people yelling or being annoying, people with crappy microphones or high gain values to be "funny", playing back adult content "for fun", all that sort of stuff. To me, this seems like an absolute nightmare, even with additional roles, while not providing much value in helping others with coding issues.
I have an idea what if we sort the people first, an example would be the people you trust first
And in time for probation, and if okay we can go public. But to control things like that is indeed difficult especially since I'm not a Discord developer😭
this is the only way to make it bearable for mods, also you could have "voice mods"
Trusted people (that are in vc alot) that have perms to mute someone in vc that can then contact a mod that will actually take action (or not)
