not really. most importantly, duelist exists, but also, the original character designs were made upwards of 12 years ago. i don’t think watabou had diversity in mind when creating them, and I don’t think Evan wanted to change what was fine while he was already changing a ton and making the game more diverse in other ways, like with sad ghost (and now cleric) using they/them and being canonically outside the binary, with sad ghost having a non-straight relationship, and duelist being a person of color.

plus making a bunch of sprites with different skin colors for every hero is, as an artist and a beginner game dev, very time consuming
