It was triggering one of the curse effects where it saps health from one target and gives it to another target
If u zapped nothing then it would still make the sound but it wouldnt do anything unless u zap an enemy with it, at which point it could sap from u to enemy or vice versa
Either that or it was cursing one of ur gear, but u would prolly see that
