Challenge idea
Ranged nerf: Enemies receive damage from ranged attacks over time, as if they had viscosity +2. Receiving ranged damage gives half a turn of haste to the affected enemy, ally or self.

Things to discuss:

  • Better name
  • +2, +3, or +4
  • 1-2 turns of stamina haste instead, renewed on hit or stacking
  • Compare to other challenges difficulty, funness and theme in 1ch, multichall, 10ch

this is bordering on old fima and old chals in general

just giving ranged attacks the viscosity effect is enuff to cripple all ranged builds

since now pretty much everything behaves like dwarf king phase 3, letting them close the gap with u even after u should have killed them with ease

adding the haste is just salt to the wound and pretty much reaffirming old chals like old on diet completley removing food items

I'd still go for a ranged build with both nerfs in 10ch, in what challenges amount context are you mostly talking about?

bcuz 9chal makes everything that isnt a ranged build insanely painful

so adding one extra thing to nerf ranged builds doesnt make u wantto use a non-ranged build, it changes nothing but add more pain to the game

This makes upgrading straight damage even more the norm instead of more varied ways of winning fights and traversing the game

also damage dumping wouldn't get you far because weapons affect resistance and hp in different amounts

you could have a weapon that deals a lot of flat damage but if it keeps the resistance bar full you won't make much out of it

unless you smartly use something to help it like ranged weapons, rings or debuffs
