#Drag and drop problems

Not quite sure where to put this, but I'm having a problem with art asset importing.

To be clear what I'm talking about, I routinely drag-and-drop various map assets to the Background layer; sometimes full maps, sometimes map tiles, sometimes individual objects (though those I put on the Object layer).

I think I've occasionally noted the following problem before, but it seems to have gotten worse lately.

Usually I'm able to import a single map to the Background without notable problems. But if I'm putting something together with tiles, I can drag the first piece over to Maptool on the Windows toolbar, but attempts to continue with the successive tiles causes the Maptool icon to show the typical null symbol and a red underline, but will not expand into the Maptool window and I can't place it.

I can still do this with resizing both the Maptool window and the folder with the art assets, but I find that a little clumsy. Any suggestion as to what is causing this problem of dragging to the Maptool icon on the toolbar?

What version of MT are you using?
Also, this confuses me: " I can drag the first piece over to Maptool on the Windows toolbar"

Sorry, I forgot about this. I'm using 1.18.6, and I meant "taskbar" not "toolbar".

I don't understand how the taskbar is involved at all. When I drag stuff in, I directly drag it from wherever to the open map, so Maptool open on part of the screen and the file explorer directory open on another part of the screen

If you're using two apps that are full screen you can mouse-drag hold an object over a running task on the bar, and that task goes full screen to do a drop.
That is my guess anyway 🙂

I'm never a big fan of working with split windows on one screen, honestly.
