I actually love this stuff as a music producer myself.

So to comment, it's not that complicated Mephis, it can do that because music itself is math, and you can program it. It's all fractions and base 12 patterns. Once you teach it what to look for and what to do when it hears it, you can replicate stuff.

Those AIs excell at repeated patterns like drum beats, strings, rhythm instruments, but have trouble with front line stuff like vocal, solos, lead guitars. They always come out "blurry" almost.

It depends, Right now AI is just being used as a catch all term.

Its not an intelligence in any sense yet, its a very sophisticated algorithim that generates rules based on inputs given. Its not "learning" anything so much as cataloging its dataset

Its really surprising how many people think this stuff is like some kinda star trek computer who can talk back and "know what you mean"

Its why prompts that generate "good" things are so esoterick and written like its for someone with schizophrenia.

I think it becomes hard to argue reality after a certain point of realism.

If you create a simulation with enough fidelity to be convincingly human for indefinite periods of time, is it not, for all intents and purposes, a relationship? The input output exchange between the participants are identical for the most part.

This just begs the question of if replacing a human in that interaction with a machine that is believably human, does it fundamentally change its value if the output is identical.

I think we are going to have some depressing revelations about the nature of conciousness thanks to chatbot development.

Yep! Politics bots. Theyre there purely to make people upset for engagement OR also pretty commonly used to spread missiformation.

Fun game to play: look for a term that gets repeated word for word by multiple people. If you find a binch of coments all with the same un altered phrase, its a bot / started by a bot.

(Sometimes youll see something a bot has started get picked up by people.
Youll see it a lot in relation to the war in Ukraine as the Russian Govt. uses bots to spread missinfo of whats happening / create dissonace. The most recent one I remember is "US sends 10 billion to Ukraine." It got spread around and commented on a bunch of fake and legit news outlet feeds.
While the US sends gear to Ukraine they have not and would not send 10 billion cash to Ukraine. This phrase was first said by 40 or so bot accounts and slowly got picked up by online discource)

Its ingeresting and mildly terrifying how bots are being used by both politicians and other countries to try and manipulate public perception. Feels like one of those things that kids 20-30 years from now will be writing about for their college history essays.

Atm moment, they're essentially randonly generated so it's not possible.
