I unpinned a lot of the suggestions we've discussed, left the ones that are still up in the air.
Quotes chat - we said no to, it was removed cause it's purpose wasn't what it was used for and it was hardly used at all, people miss things for no reason when in reality it'd be used for a week or less then just not used. Aswell starboard is our quote chat essentially now.
Deleting super-secret announcements and putting them in big-boi chat - we again said no to, the reason being so that things don't get buried and everyone is more likely to see it
music bot to queue up peoples turns to sing - term said no cause it'd be abused like no tomorrow, also most of us agreed too hard to put together for not a big deal. We should be a bit more proactive in modding vc's.
Roles for musicians or artists - most mods don't like this idea, people don't want to judge peoples talent. also segregation plays a part in it.
Suite 6/7 - no. people barely use suites

serious vc - This is begging for a vc to be micspammed, LOL so probably not. Also we have plenty of vc's at the moment.
Better filtering towards general chat (better modding) - We do try, but sometimes it's missed and we do most of our infractions in a seperate chat so when we do deal with a lot of things, people usually don't see it. But i'm sure we can improve!
serious talk 30+ - Lvl 20 seems pretty good, it's minimal trolling and quite a lot of active lvl 20's participate in that chat.

Bans only last 6 months - Anyone that's been banned, is banned for reasons mainly relating to the fact they cant reform. It's so hard to get banned in this server, i think it's like 12 chances or so ?? maybe more. And you get told when last lifed, you have to almost purposely try to get banned here to get banned, and people that get banned before that are mainly for ToS reasons like pornography, gore, ddosing etc. Sorry, but no.
silly and less serious suggestion channel - No point to that, would be a waste of a text channel.
make previous kicks/warns go away - There's a lot of problems to this, so many problems. We can't keep track of everyones previous kicks/warns, also it's about 12 or so warns/kicks combined to be banned, so if they go away we could potentially be giving someone 15-20 chances before they get banned, which would just make the server more toxic than anything. Also checking the dates of every infraction for everyone we warn/mute etc. is a tough ask. Aswell as if people realise they have infractions taken away, they'll be inclined to break more rules before ban.
Events - We just did an art event for christmas, but we could look into doing another event, perhaps an emote event? It's hard coming up with prizes, the event itself etc. If u ever have specific ideas of an event that isn't just "art event", we'd love to hear your ideas.

alrighty, so i finally came up with some server events that the server as a whole could contribute to, and with a bit of research, here are my ideas!
1. Gaming Tournaments:
so firstly, everyone loves gaming. it's a pretty big server, with people playing games all the time! you could play fortnite for example: play in a squad (most likely different games), whatever squad finishes with the highest rank wins, or with solos it could be the same thing as well. theres a lot of things that could happen here, with a variety of games that can be played such as cs:go, overwatch, pubg, etc. it's really based on what games people have and what/when theyre willing to play it.
now, there is the issue where people don't have the games needed to participate, don't have the computer, or it doesn't necessarily include the whole server. in this case, karaoke competitions work pretty well to make up for it!
2. Karaoke:
karaoke has the ability to allow people to talk, discuss, and joke about the horrible failure of people singing, or even gasp in astonishment of how amazing some talents are. it is quite funny and generally really enjoyable for the people that join: whether they sing or not. it opens the options for people to make new friends, become more comfortable in the server and make it more welcoming, and even find some great talents that they didn't know existed!
the next idea i have is something where the server as a whole can once again participate in.
3. Diverse Competitions:
this includes the whole server!
- art competitions: anyone could draw something and submit it, but the setback here is that it's difficult to tell whether or not the art is actually original. this is what leads to other ones as well though!
- meme competitions: i feel like i don't need to think of anything else lol. this is one of the first things i thought of - whoever submits the funniest memes, wins! it could be judged with reactions: whichever one has the most reactions is the winner.
there are even more events which can take place: funniest/most amazing videos, compilations, emotes, etc. could possibly be a great way to include server members! there a plenty of options and a competition for everyone.
4. Creators Chat:
i thought about this one for a bit and the issue here is that getting a creator (youtuber/streamer) in here with an open vc would be toxic and cancerous. in order to make this work, have one chat and allow a select number of people to join, with hopefully a different person joining each time. allowing time limits (10-15 minutes for each person) could equate to more fairness but then again, there is difficulty with that. if this does work however, it would result in a happy little community, and even make someone's day!
this one needs a lot of thought, but i put it in anyway just for it to be considered. it would take a lot of time to set up and prepare, but in the end it would be worth it!
5. Hidden Phrases/Easter Eggs:
no, it's not easter. this could be a certain phrase/image hidden somewhere in the depths of the server where no one usually looks. people could work together as teams/duos and find the easter egg, earning some sort of reward in the end. considering this is a huge server, it would be quite fun to see the frustration of people not being able to find it in whatever chat they type in! now, only a couple people will probably do it, but in the end it'll be easy to find out who may be truly active in the server, and a great way for finding staff/helpful members.
6. Music Parties:
we already have this anyway with odd music, but instead of it being muted, everyone is talking and jamming along. this isnt necessarily a competition, it's just a fun and enjoyable event where everyone plays meme music and/or actual music, while bonding with a lot of other people. it's like a mini online party eheh.
to me, i find rap battles really funny and interesting. it's a way for people to bond and also laugh at the funny stuff everyone allows to spill out of their mouth. for this, many people could possibly fail miserably and still have a good time, or those who overshadow everyone and genuinely make you think you have no talent, and still enjoy that as well. this usually draws a lot of attention and should be one of the most fun ones!
To Let People Know Of These Events:
i did put a lot of thought into this and even watched a few videos to rule out the best ones i could find. some of these are risky, however the end result could be worth it! in order to actually get people aware of what's going on, perhaps a text channel called #server-event-details could be made. this could list the time, date and where the event is taking place. i do hope that this is used bc it took a shit load of my time and would love if people participated in these!
ultimately, it's a good step in bringing a server with almost 180k people together and make them more active!

exactly. stand up seems pretty fun and should be worthwhile. some of these will take time to organise but in the end it would be worth it. again, the lottery idea suggested is quite good, but there are some flaws to that. if the certain individual has done some serious things to receive those infractions, it could possibly be dangerous to the server community and may lead to severe repercussions and thus, i don't condone it and why i didn't suggest it. ideas of events which involve taking away mutes and kicks need a lot of thought to them and quite frankly, wouldn't be that great to do.

Future mod applications 4 months+ in server - We like this idea, we are thinking 3+ months though.

Music bot for 30+ - Nono, we gotta keep some perks for the high levels! It's a pretty good level right now.
Food text channel - This has been used in other servers and died very fast, we are trying to keep a minimal on the adding of text channels aswell
Electoral process for picking mods - The mods are chosen through a vote of all the mods. A popularity contest for mods will run the server to the ground. It's very good with how it is currently with the trainee system
Give power to mods - There isnt really a divide between mods and HR, come back 12 months ago and ur suggestion will be useful
Transparency when people are demodded or banned - Out of respect for the mods, and any members who could possibly be involved in situations like that, we wont be doing that. If you would like to know the reason people are banned or demodded, you can DM one of our HR's.

server-updates for suggestions that have been applied - We can do this for general updates but will not be posting the 'nos' we have. Usually when we reply to suggestions we write long things so the server-updates will just be used for general things that we impliment in the server.
Mods being too nice. A year or so ago there were comments that the moderators were too mean, so we've tried to be a little less nazi and more lenient. We still enforce the rules, we just try to as politely yet firmly as possible. I've seen a few mods get slacked by actives because they aren't nice sometimes, so it's something we can't please everyone with. If we get mods that are jerks, we'll end up with fights in mod chat and in general which is not a road i wanna go down again, and right now we're heading a good direction with disciplined, good mods. Mods also have to have a backbone, and is something we take into consideration when going to mod them, just because they're nice doesn't mean they're fragile.
Level queue limits - This would be too difficult to moderate.
wave check meme - These memes die down soon. If we notice people are xp farming we will do something but for now it is not something thats necessary to be singled out in pins.
Higher level music bot channel: - We can get a second music bot, our bot guys will work on this. No ETA though so be patient!

Maybe have it at like 30+ or so and make it a temporary role that they only get while the event takes place. Obviously it would need mod approval. Request a nickname channel- The level requirement to change names in here is super low (lvl 10), servers with request-a-nick channel usually have this perm set very high.
