are you sure? i've kind of noticed we don't do a lot of actual food pip/health management
we dont because its a bit fucky at times when it comes to moving around a map
im trying to come up with a solution
i think food should be a little more neccesary, but not to the point where it becomes obstructive to enjoying the game
im thinking after you travel youre down to anything you had in reserve when you left a battlemap
basically while going through a map you can get just enough to survive and nothing more
don't think i've seen any rains happen outside of cycles passing on their own
problem is lizards are very good food for hunty
story hasnt called for it yet

but part of the purpose of rain is to force peeps to eat
if you don't eat, you can't sleep, or become weakened
rain hasn't been there to encourage any foraging-like behavior in the battlemaps
well food pips here also have the purpose of being stuff that lets you use your abilities
we are in a very long dungeon crawl so rain might actually be coming up though
are food pips then just blessings?
there was that rite i think that just converted blessings to food pips
although i'm unsure if it's still in the doc

food pip economy is very hard to balance
because sometimes the party dosent share it equally
and then you gotta add more
then everyone has a lot of reserve
why are species adaps so hard to think of :(

The waterspitters, and the silver lizards
Waterspitters are heavy lizards, which have a projectile like red lizzies
whites are also the same
They spray water at things, to try and knock them off poles (usually into watery mires)
red lizard lounge;
waterspitters are able to dive and have good swimspeed
also, they're cute
lemme get a screenshot of one
i think the waterspitter projectile would be good for salamanders perhaps
you could also try and get stuff from the MSC caramel lizard
oh, cyans have a lower chance by a bit

Sprinter legs
Enhanced muscles in the limbs allow the normally slow and awkward green lizard charge to become truly speedy for just a moment. Allows for closing the distance on prey, or to lunge across greater distances than before. The strain this puts on the limbs however mean this can be an exhaustive technique.
You no longer need to spend one action preparing a charge, and may instead lunge immediately at the cost of 3 food pips. Cannot be performed while in any starving state. Not consuming food pips will perform a normal charge, requiring use of a windup. While using this lunge, you may travel [X] tiles before attacking, and you may also use this to lunge over greater distances if you do not attack.

The hunter jaws adaptation idea had a lot of smaller stuff because it helps it be more generally useful and stand out in those areas
not always going to be in combat, so having something with utility outside of it? helps with depth

our warlock had message and would use it constantly with everyone else
we basically had orange lizard pack tactics, which explained how we were able to do planning in the middle of combat

With some assistance from you (and not much mental tax), your allies are now capable of using you to communicate with eachother. Larger antennae also allow you to intrude the minds of creatures that are already receptive to your presence.
All nearby party members gain the ability to use your antennae to relay thoughts and ideas as a free action, so long as you are alive and conscious. You are also able to communicate freely with non-party friendly creatures without using a will check. As the intermediary, you essentially have administrative privilege over who is allowed to use this network.

salamanders are amphibious "lizards"
they can't drown, and are the only lizards that can dive
ingame, they're... one of the slowest swimmers????

because they dive
