hello people! i am quite the new player and im on my first playthrough with the base game(survivor). I just met the green guy, i think his name is 5 pebble, and i wanted to backtrack down to see the nice blue lady but he blocked my path and i had to go up, and i dont want to anger him too much , so i went around but now im stuck in a room because theres a jump i cant see how to get past, am i missing something?

maybe use map very very rarely as a last call, but you can also ping first playthrough helpers to help you out with hints (though please use the ping rarely, maybe once per hours or such

First part: the long ago past
2 years ago I bought this game and played it for like 5 hours, I think I got lost and I went up, up where the flys are as numerous as the falls. I think I just wanted to go up, and when I found nothing at the top I was like: wait and I just stopped cause the game was quite frustrating
in my canon thats like the past of my slugcat before he fell and his family left him behind to be eaten by everything cause holy damn this rain world is HOSTILE

Second part: the first awakening
1 week ago I saw a video of a guy doing a playthrough of a slugcat called inv, and it was WILD, and altough I don’t want to ge do that cause MAN this game is hard enough, the play was heavely cutted and I know there wasnt a lot of spoilers cause im lost all the time so yea
SO I decide to boot the game once more, and I delete my old save to make a new one, a fresh start.
Death, death, death, and getting lost.
I flee and fall down, down into the hearth and the conduits of hell, and I keep dying to lizard, plants, cavemen, land bird, sky bird, leeches, plants(wtf), also funny mushroom, then I find the train and go under it
Then it was LITTERAL HELL, cause blocked by land birds I must go down, down into the conduit where its dark and the lizards are invisible, so I navigate using the in game map to see what conduits im in. this map killed me 7 times because of lizard.
After MANY, MAAAAANY death to those evil lizards and like 7 hours of this, one of the cavemen drop a lantern and I manage to save with it. my only friend.
With the lantern I can go down easier, and I keep dying but less! Filled with the determination of my new ally , I go so far that I fall in a BIG hole, then I find the big temple

Third part: the big temple
SO I cannot go up anymore, the rain is after me so I continue in search of food and shelter, and I find the X, wich now that I think about it is the mark that not green but pink guy gave me.
So the temple is IMMENSE, and im surprised when the rain DOESNT kill me for some reason, so best place ever for now.
Anyway I treck for a wile in the big temple then I meet actual cthullu and he ignores me, a few more trecks and I find a whole bunch of chtullus, these ones throw me around 5 times so I back down, but now im stuck cause no exit. After an hour I decide to end it, I throw 5 spears at the 1 wthullu and he fuses me with the wall, then I see that I have something called a passage
4th part: the third beginning:
Tired of lizard hell and bird devils, I decide to use the passage to get back in the tutorial area, determine to not get lost, and using the experience of hell, my survival is way better, I feel like a superhero compared to before(i die only like 10 times per pannel now instead of 50), and I follow the green eye, this guide is awsome! Cant believe I lost it 2 times before :(, he show me where my friends are!
So I follow him, go up and meet the cavemen, who like pearls and lances, so werepals now.
After dodging evil brids and leeches(I HATE LEECHES), I end up in ‘the shoreline, where I swim and swimand plenty of food is nice.

then I keep following the guide and I cross the ocean with weird dolphinoctopus things, and I get stuck in a big room with THE CUBE before using 3 lances to clear a wall jump(this took 3 hours)
then I find nice blue lady! She looks cool, and she talks in a language i don’t know, and for a while I am angry, I went through hell for more than 20 hours, swim and climb and DIE DIE DIE so much only to just find a blue lady that just LOOKs AT ME
WHY AM I HERE BLUE LADY
o well at least shes not trying to kill me like all the other things in this game
so I leave, and then the guide appears! He show me an arrow that looks like the lightbulbs around the blue lady, so maybe the guide IS the blue lady, and she needs me to get more.
Now filled with the determination of a quest, I go back through THE LEECHES AGAIN
Past the ocean, the giant bridges and the cavemen , through the evil vines of the swamp(omg these things) I finally find THE WALL

I die on hunger in the shelter while fleeing the rain when I arrive in the wall

wall is hate, lizards are camouflage and im colorblind, putting the volume all the way up gives a bit of time to react but still, I fall a lot
after many hours I reach the funny grapple grubs, GAME CHANGER
I AM NO LONGER BOUND BY GRAVITY(yes I am but less)
I fly directly into the evil tentacle balls
I hate these things
so after a long time I find an area thats actually really nice! Plenty of food and a gate with the n°6 symbol.
I die a lot so im at 1.
its actually only 2 hours later that I manage to survive in this nice area! My first lizard kill is here. I am proud of this, he took SO MANY LANCES but I had to defend my life points, I fought like a lion, cornered but not out, I would not flee anymore.
After this kill, after all of this, I open the door THE MACHINE

I could read a bit of Five Pebbles in this neuron before formatting it. His condition has severely deteriorated since last I heard of him. The frustration he feels is profound, and that angst has seeped into every part of him, every neuron.

Sliver of Straw is the only one to ever broadcast a specific signal: that the Big Problem we're all working on has been solved. Although, a small fraction of one. Nowadays I am mostly just my puppet. The bulk of me is in these walls but I am disconnected from those parts, to a degree where I am only vaguely aware of how bad their condition is.
Most purposed organisms were considerably smaller than me, and most barely looked like organisms at all. More like tubes in metal boxes, where something went in one end and something else came out the other.
There were of course those that were purposed for spectacle rather than industry - they enjoyed the privilege of glass boxes.

Most of our processing is outsourced to microbe strata which need a flow of clean water or else slag builds up, our processes seize, and eventually we die. It is... very painful. They used to say that an iterator drinks a river, but neither of us two have seen a natural river so I suppose the analogy is lost on us, little creature!
Originally water supply was very important when placing iterators. Later there would be a great equalizer - the fact that we breathe out as much vapor as we inhale water led to there being water available everywhere, and the latest few generations could be placed almost completely freely.

So why doesn't the ground collide with the sky? Because far down, under the very very old layers of the earth, the rock is being dissolved or removed. The entity which does this is known as the Void Sea.
If you drill far enough into the earth you begin encountering a substance called Void Fluid. The deeper you go, the less rock and more Void Fluid. It's believed that there is a point where the rock completely gives way - below that would be the Void Sea.
When that stone you placed on the ground has finally done its time in the sediments, it meets the Void Fluid and is dissolved, leaving the physical world.
My creators, or rather my creators' ancestors, figured out a way to use Void Fluid. Because you can generate energy by creating a vacuum... never mind. Anyways, the Void Fluid drills were what started the big technological leap, but this is very long before I entered this world - so I can only tell you what I remember from priming.
A Void Fluid filtration system is used because if you take Void Fluid from close to the bedrock horizon, it will contain traces of rock and dirt. They bring in dirty fluid and then filter it to increase its purity. The other way is to put a pipe deeper, which works well for some time, but the pipe dissolves. Or is broken by some... force - no one really knows, you don't go down there and come back up.

I would recommend completing each campaign; each one has its own unique story and lore tidbits to find
(Also, be warned that the Rain World lore can be a bit cryptic, so there are lore videos out there with lots of misconceptions or inaccuracies- it's probably best to, once you finish all campaigns, look up the pearl dialogue and draw your own conclusions first, then ask any questions you have in the lore channels or something)
