I've also watched intense deep dives on the lore of Rain World, Down Pour, and some guy ranking Watcher areas so I'm not new to the lore of the game just playing the game.
Also used to Hollow Knight where you enter a completely new area and purchase a map from a humming/singing bug and explore the area so some of the areas looking similar and the map not being what I'm used to makes it hard to remember place names and where to go

I don't know why but the ||Karma Gate in Industrial Complex took me to Shaded Citadel the first time I entered so I had to delete that save because I didn't get a lantern except for grabbing a lanturn mouse and forcing it to come with me || spoiled for mid game region.
I'm in the Sewers/Water Ways right now and while I do like the vibe, I like how some areas have sun filtering in and the little flowers and squid, I hate the leaches
You don't have to delete the save in that case
remember that you can go back through gates if you need to
you dont need to spoil messages after the starting message btw
I've been listening to the soundtrack while I work on my Meteorology homework. Todays homework is about rain and snow so it feel appropriate.
Be careful with the soundtrack. There's a few spoilers scattered around
especially in the DLC ones
well actually if you already know all the lore you probably know what I'm talking about so
I don't mind spoilers, sometimes it helps me learn more on how to beat that game
I will say
a big part of this game is discovering how stuff works
so spoilers for mechanics end up being pretty significant
both because it ruins the fun of discovering those things and because knowing stuff gives you a direct advantage and can change how the game is played quite a bit
I'll definitely keep that in mind, by videos I do mean lore. I'm new to the mechanics. The only real mechanics spoiler I've had is how to add a mod to make swimming easier. Which I forgot how to do. But I will keep spoilers for especially mechanics in mind
There's more than one gate in regions
Also there's no correct order to play
You have access to the whole world and can journey around through many different paths
In my very first play through I got through like 3? In Garage Wastes, Shoreline, and that's it I think. I got stuck somewhere in Shoreline and stopped, of my 3 play throughs I got to something I couldn't get out of pretty early in game or just gave up so forth time I guess? Also I just figured out how to have multiple saves
I give up pretty easily but I'll start really wanting to play a game so bad that I just go ahead and try to get un stuck or something else to do while I wait.
they have spoilers???
Reposted starting message
First sort of play through
I've technically tried 4 times. The first three I got stuck for some reason, couldn't swim, couldn't see, leaches and deleted the saves so holpfully I'll finish with the fourth, had to redo the intro because the original one had spoilers
💥
how do the soundtrack have spoilers???
track names firstly
Yeah, some of them are threat insert area so if you don't want to be spoiled on area names. That's about if that I can think of for spoilers.
i already completed the campaign so
Day 1 of deciding to document my Rain World play through
Cycle 9, Drainage System.
I mentioned before(I think) that I like the vibe of the area. I'm used sewer areas being darkly lit with a blue green tint so I do like the sunlight filtering in in some parts and the fact that it's a lighter color palette. I like all the little water flower/lilly pads and the ambient noise with the water rushing and the popping bugs. So I'm not super mad about being stuck here but that will probably change.
Someone appreciates the ambience
a lot of effort went into the vibes™ in this game as you can probably tell
by any chance, do you have any dlcs enabled?
should show up as the "More Slugcats Expansion" or "The Watcher" in the Remix settings, which can be found on the main menu
we only mention this because having the DLCs enabled affect the vanilla game in a few ways
and therefore such playthroughs fall under the DLC forums
I have the Downpour expansion but I can't access it because I haven't finished the base game yet, don't have the Watcher expansion either. I don't think I have any mods on? If I do, it's be accident. I don't add any mods on any game until I complete finish it. I don't want to accidentally make it harder.
Does this need to go in the Downpour play through theads?
Downpour (or, more accurately, MSC) does in fact modify the base game
but it's technically considered a mod, you have to enable it in the Remix menu to use it
I don't know if I have, does this need to go in the Downpour forum since I do have the expansion?
What does the Remix menu look like?
(And, though it's not a big deal, I do recommend playing the vanilla game without it - it is a mod, after all
)
Looks like I do have the mods on. I'm playing as monk, would it affect anything too badly
I read it's just some minor changes but I can move forums if that would be better
yeah if you're playing with them on you have to move to #1272670046434492426
the changes aren't negligible, but also not major
So move even though I haven't played anything in Downpour? Sorry, just want to make sure
Got it, should I close this chat after I move forums?
(the point of having multiple forums is mostly to make sure people who don't have the DLCs can always interact with the community without being spoiled)
I don't think you need to do anything special to close it
Ok, just made a post in Downpour, Everything alright now?
looks good to me
Great, just want to make sure I'm not breaking any rules
