i have wandered very far down i first went from chimney canopy then to sky islands now im all the way down to this place called "filtration systems" or something and i realized this is a downpour dlc add-on map so it feels like im going the wrong way but idk what to do either ive been on this playthrough for 8 hours with no significant story progress

Even the vanilla maps never help in filtration, but either way it's not recommended to look at a map for your playthrough as the game relies heavily on exploration
Anywhere you explore is progress, and with it comes story
Your little guide might help redirect you if you feel you're not going the right direction, and if they're not, you can check your in-game map/terrain and see pipes that you haven't explored yet for a right idea about where to go

i was in garbage waste but couldnt get past that one underground scavenger camp cuz i alrdy gave em all my pearls and i keep killing them so they hate me
but it feels good progressing through filtration systems i keep getting these cool pop ups when i hibernate
"pop-ups" i mean cutscenes or pictures
today has for me been the most fun and exciting playing rainworld i keep finding thesde super cool areas and new enemies and stuff
