The dlc campaigns rely on you having beaten monk or survivor
To know what youre doing

soo effectively the win condition won't enable until I figure out something else
guess I need to focus more on what the iterators say i guess

....I played this game cause a friend kept playing it in vc with me naturally that happened

spoiling things a lot of the time will only make things more confusing
you find out what the end is but you dont get how to get there or any information you could obtain on your journey to get there

and thats how you end up not finishing the game as survivor and going to the depths as gourmand

i would recommend finishing up at least survivor and disabling the unlock all slugcats option in remix 
and if you can, make sure your friend doesn't spoil you things from the game anymore. it's understandable you got into it because of them and were unable to avoid spoilers, but it's amazing experiencing this game blind and making sense of things as you go on
if you like and would find it helpful, one of us can send the dialogue you got told in gourmand to read it over
