My first game was into the 300s

The more you die the more you learn and the better you get slugsparkle it's kind of how the game was designed

It doesn't punish death much anyway

I couldn’t get past this one point cuz for some reason it was raining in the day and I couldn’t get anywhere

Msc

MSC (More Slugcats Expansion) is part of the Downpour DLC enabled in the Remix menu. MSC changes all campaigns and if you have it enabled you MUST move to the Downpour equivalent of the channel, even with base game slugcats.

And for what it's worth the feature you describe was not a glitch nor softlock, it was very much survivable
