I picked up the game years ago, and for the longest time couldn't get into it. Each of my first several attempts, I'd only make it a few cycles and then decide again the game wasn't for me.

I was recently re-encouraged to play the game by a new friend with an iterator OC, both because of his fixation on it and because of my own interest in his lore.

My Survivor run is now complete, and the hyperfixation has been ridiculous since. I've listened to Pulse and Deep Light so many times, I've been thinking about the ending constantly, and I can't even begin to put into words the emotions I felt just from both the ending and experiencing it with a very dear friend.

My opinion on the game was never negative, but it's still done a complete 180 and skyrocketed into my top 5 games of all time. I look forward to trying other runs ^.^( )~

He's an iterator named Two Horizons! I'm not gonna share much, both because he's been careful about what to share with me for spoilers and because I'd want to make sure I know from him directly what I'm free to share. But he's been a massive influence on my enjoyment of the game ^^

We played the jolly co-op mod together among a few others to help me get acclimated to my first playthrough. Having his company there, that direct connection to another person, added so much emotional depth to the ending for me. Honestly at this point I'm looking to get a scug version of my rat sona
