I've done the spinning top ending and am currently trying to "spread rot". Ive unlocked 3 rooms in the throne so far but I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. I thought spreading rot had something to do with daemon portals but according to outside info apparently it's just by going to unrotted regions. BUT IT DOESNT WORK!! I've been to aether ridge from torrential (which has the rot aura effect in the map) and it DIDNT INFECT. Then I went to shrouded and that didnt infect either. I'm now in pillar and it's STILL NOT INFECTING. I don't know how i infected the regions i infected before receiving the knowledge of "how it works". The random warps from outer rim always put me into regions with daemon portals and rot auras so I assumed for 3 regions that the rot aura means it CAN be infected and to infect you have to USE the daemon portal in that region. Now that I know it's nowhere near as complex though, it's NO LONGER WORKING. IM GOING INSANE

please dont tell me that it means there's only a possibility that ||big worm|| is there and that i have to go to every single region and go through ever single room

its probably a stupid dumb idea but i dont actually want to get hints if i dont have to

thats how ive always played rain world up until watcher

but on top of already making it insanely grindy, figuring that out yourself is another 5 hours
