#Watcher and Downpour issues on EU Switch 1

Hello!

I know there's been multiple Reports of problems on switch since the release of watcher/last update of downpour, but I wanted to share my specific constellation of issues, plus observations I made that might be useful.

I'm on a switch 1 in EU region and bought watcher right after release on the 2nd.

I had updated the game and checked in on my files (currently having a finished game of survivor, and a started gourmand file) before I got watcher, and everything was normal. I could also boot up and play the gourmand file just fine.

When I got watcher, it looked normal at first too, and I could play just fine until I reached the first shelter in industrial complex. Sheltering in hydroponics I had no issue and I played 3 cycles there normally. Since then I am stuck on the load screen that requires closing out the game, and it shows the screwed up game time in the menu. Gourmand file now also shows the messed up time (this wasn't there before I got watcher), but otherwise appears normal when I load it up. Still worried that something about it is bricked too.

The black point on a white background never happened for me.

Disabling downpour doesn't let me continue the watcher file, I haven't tried restarting it though.

Does anyone know if there's sth in the work to deal with these issues? Will restarting watcher without downpour work? And do you think the gourmand file will get any additional problems aside of the screwed time?

Some said who tried to play on a downpour campaign that not only the playtime messed up, but when they wanted to play again, that they couldn't bc it always crashed and such. Some believe that's when a save-file corrupts. This Was before watcher came out for is Europeans, so it seems that Downpour is mostly the problem.

Hey uuuh I got the exact same issue, no idea why but when I disable the watcher, everything is working just fine, my game only crashes when it’s enabled

What language are your consoles set to?

feral surge

Console ?

#

French

There is a theory that, maybe, the language of the console, other than english, Breaks the game

feral surge
#

Wow

#

If I set it to English will it fix the issue tho ?

We don't know, really

Mine is set to German. Worth a try at least!

did Gourmand playtime changed after you played it? or some other campaign?

Don't care about the watcher bc I was like an hour in but that one would hurt ngl 😔

The basegame characters are normal for everyone as I know

I am not 100% certain but

and it will render the story menu inaccessible

#

if you play and save the game*

Actually, don't play any campaign. The only option that seems safe is to disable every DLC and just play the base game

#

And it really seems that language is the issue, every new report is coming from outside the US

And thanks, yeah I simply won't touch the game at all for now then, don't wanna jinx it. A little sad bc I was excited but better than breaking it further 😅
It's fascinating how these things are connected, that system language settings might screw the game like that 😅

And it would actually make so much sense

#

If they only tested the game with english language

True, especially bc it happens almost immediately. Let's hope they'll be able to do sth about it soon (and that Nintendo won't take forever to accept them then, either)
