I've played this game a bit years ago when it first came out, I never finished it. I came back today but I'm stuck and completely lost on what to do. I'm in the drainage system zone, I've died SO many times trying to figure out where the game wants me to go. I honestly don't even know what I'm trying to ask help for, I just have no idea how to progress right now

If you think you're stuck, you can always backtrack and try another route. There isn't a single way to get anywhere, and the game is non-linear.

what do I do against noodle flies? they keep killing me over and over and it doesn't seem like I can do anything against them

they also can go basically anywhere so I can't even outrun them

yes i think they became more aggressive because I ate one of their babies once, but I could've sworn that was on a different character

regardless it was like eons ago when will they forget

I have a question

how much should I be checking my map

I feel like I depend on it too much

As much as u want tbh! Memorising areas is useful but hard, so map is always welcomed!

I open mine all the time because I have a hard time seeing the geometry in game

I've progressed a lot now. I'm currently at ||memory crypts||. I understand the game is non linear and all but I REALLY feel like I shouldn't be here yet 😭 I might head back to ||shaded citadel|| if I find it too hard

I followed the transparent yellow bugs from ||shoreline|| to ||shaded citadel||, and then from there to ||memory crypts|| (although they got kinda confusing there). I had a few attempts at crossing ||memory crypts|| and succeeded once getting to "||the leg||" area but died before being able to hibernate. I'll have a few more tries at it but I might go back and explore the rest of shaded if I fail too much

I don't need help with anything specific yet

there doesn't seem to be a way to go through ||sky islands|| that doesn't involve an impossible jump. I'm now back at ||the wall|| to see if theres an area I missed but I doubt it

I wanna get to farm arrays because that's what I was told and I'm assuming sky islands will eventually lead me there

I've been to farm arrays before but that's all the way back in outskirts I can't just go back there

I finally got past sky islands holy crap

this area must've shaved like 2 years off my life with the jumps it had me go through my god

sky islands is pretty difficult at least to me

honestly I don't mind difficulty but I have one genuine critique

sometimes the game doesn't communicate well enough which drops are ones that kill me and which ones actually continue off-screen

I kept going in circles on the last part of sky islands because I didn't know a drop wasn't actually a death drop

there is a remix option so you can see more the death pits, just in case

it helps differentiate them apart

Remix mod is usually not considered cheating unless you use the cheat parts. The pit indicators and other QOL are usually allowed

From what i know at least

it’s a personal first playthrough, there are no penalties for “cheating” here but it does take away from the game
