They do stop morphing at some point, so it feels like they might be in a very juvenile stage if they bare any similarities. My crackpot theory is watcher turns into a ripple worm, a being bound to keep the balance of their daemon to prevent something like this reality collapsing ever again.||

ngl no matter how I end up feeling playing through the rest of this dlc again, the prologue is still a REALLY good tone setter

spinning top is interesting even if im not super hooked to their whole character, the whole hook of finding echos in vanilla and slowly breaking apart the world until you literally can't exist within it is really cool

like if vanilla's ending was ascending past the confines of the cycle and escaping, watcher's prologue feels like you're just breaking down every aspect of the world's logic to the point where it just smushes together

1.5 spoilers, I have a watcher theory/headcanon

||I think watcher has no sense of identity as a living being. Their family died when they were young and they were often alone exploring. Another member here mentioned how watcher is often assimilated by the higher beings they meet (spinning top, prince, the long boi) and that's probably because it gives them a sense of purpose or identity. The void sea ending in my interpretation could be watcher realizing their new "friends" won't give them a permanent identity so they ascend in the hopes of finding a better life in the void. Them becoming a void worm could be the result of them amassing echo and void weaver powers.||

Kinda a sad theory now that I think of it 😔

||yeah no i agree w/ this…. i think watcher’s story is about change and growth and finally unrepressing yourself, realizing who you truly are, and growing up!! i think. all of their friends leaving represents how temporary a lot of things in life are. watcher had no will of their own, they were simply strung along by these other characters and followed in THEIR footsteps. everyone literally molds watcher into THEIR image, or at least has watcher help them without question; i think this is due to their family dying and how they did nothing to help. i think that survivors guilt sticks for a long time. “i shouldve done something, but that was a long time ago and i need to stop living in the past and let go” sort of narrative. to me. i think void worm watcher IS that final leap they needed to take to truly come to terms with their trauma and make a life for THEMSELF. because one simply cannot remain as another persons shadow. you need to eventually grow up and make a path for your own because one day there wont be someone to tell you what to do!!||

Consider. An Understanding. the forced teleportation in the ending sequence to me is weaver showing watcher parts of their past and allowing them to find closure, esp with their friends and birthplace… watcher becoming the worm is indicative of them finding this closure. and accepting everything. they are finally no longer a simple observer. they made a choice for themself because other people helped guide them along. something something its okay to ask for help . lalala||

hey chat what does it mean when i spawn into ||daemon|| and i can’t go anywhere. like i warped into the region and the camera doesn’t follow me when i jump infinitely off the edge. i know there are exits but am i not supposed to be able to use them yet? trying to warp just gets me the ||a presence already binds this place|| message so i’m fully stuck

is there a fix or do i just quit and reload

||Hi, after having acquired the DOWN + SPECIAL thing to teleport, the screen seems to be bugged. Is it a well-known thing for the past days? I am only getting a black screen, if I press space the sphere with all the regions appear but it seems I cant do anything else. If I press jump, the icon of the map goes on bottom left corner of the screen but nothing happens, it says "Loading..." without doing anything (PC)||

daemon spoilers ||dev tool objects in daemon, the big arm things that moves around the threads are called daemon claws. the yellow things are called daemon eyes, and these are called daemon crowns||

i tried the same thing, any rift connected to outer rim does not cooperate

but, they are not needed

i believe its due to the fact that

they are player made

but permanent

most player made rifts close after a few cycles, the rim ones dont, so you arent expected to go and close them, but they show as permanent portals

its safe to just ignore any dotted lines, theyll either dissipate without you, or wont count
