From there you can go up again into the open air and open a shortcut to songclave. If you return to that room he will be there killing guards and after talking twice you get the option to duel||

Pure Vessel isnt so bad once you learn how the fight works. At most you get fucked up by the void tendrils attack or midair stagger but the rest just becomes trivial over time

For that reason I reccommend trying out some modded fights to spice things up like Pale Shadow
(jokes aside, its a cool fight, try it out when you want to)
