Okay, it has been the most boring day at work yet. I played just a little so i did the tutorial cycle for monk

So it looks like we went out of our way to save survivor when they fell in the rain

why didn’t we meet? I didn’t thought the slugcats would be so close in time (maybe this is the exception as they are the normal and “easy” mode)

And, we only have to eat three points of food, this is so huge omg

or there is something strange with the cycles or the yellow guide is trying to keep us apart during the playthrough to have double chances for us to whatever he wants us to do

And i was very couriers about one thing

I kinda get why the rain does not reach five pebbles in-game. It looks like he is at the top of the machine (rather than in the center as i would have imagined) And the huge machines in the background look like they just scrap over the clouds

that or he just modified something so he isn’t affected i guess

But why the fuck does the rain not get in to the depths?

I would imagine that the shelters were build by the ancients (again assuming that everything has to come after the rain existing) so maybe the builded the depths like a giant shelter

and more confusing for me

do they just “drown” and are held by the robotic arm attached to the wall and then live under water until the rain gets filtrated?

I noticed that monk seems to throw things a bit slower

I was just surprised because slugcat gets so stuck in 0grav but the neurons can just zoom by and they don’t appear to be moving its limbs interacting with the environment

but maybe there is some suspension of disbelief and just asume they use air

but the creatures that fly move their limbs to be able to move, that’s why if i damage a vulture in some wings they get more sluggish (best thing in game to be honest, that they have to interact with the environment to move)

but the neurons just move whenever they like without interacting, it just makes them a bit uncanny

but they are in general pretty unique and look as you said made to be that way

so it’s nothing I worry about, just made me extra curious

(the flying around moon makes me still a bit confused tho)

I don’t know what to do

right know I am in the shelter in the wall right next the chimney canopies karma gate

So i have two possibilities right now

go to chimney canopies, encounter nineteen spades and then go to the top of the wall and find the other echo that’s there

to see if i can get higher karma in the echo’s weird scale (higer than the circle and the verticals line)

or go to see five pebbles, get the gift of communication and then go to see nineteen spades, that way i can see the dialogue that i missed the first time due to getting ther at the beginning of my first playthrough

What do you all think should be my course of action? Since once i get the gift of communication i will not be able to get the echo’s karma symbol, but if i go before i will not be able to see the dialogue

But now they aren’t here

I thought everything was going according to the plan as when i got high up the screen changed between day/night rapidly but there weren’t any of the usual etherealness that usually comes from being around a echo

So…

is it because

• I have encountered this echo before and you can not see them again on any character (I hope not, i want to see the dialogue without having to start a whole new save file)
• I need high karma but having the protection from the orange flower is seen as “cheating” from the game
• Monk is unable to see echoes (for whatever reason i’m not aware yet)

let’s try one last desperate thing, i’m gonna sleep one cycle and come again, maybe if you don’t have the gift of communication you have to get to the place twice to “prove” your prowess

So i got out of five pebbles with a neuron and a colored pearl

i wanted to use a passage to go see moon, so i tried to store the neuron on my stomach, but didn’t remember i was still a bit hungry and rated the neuron

(I was scared of five pebbles killing me because he already telled me “Go outside, is the last time i’m asking)

so i just exited the game and reenter to redo what i have done

but the game already thought i had talked with five pebbles and i had the gift of communication and higher karma available

Is there something that i haven’t seen or found out during my playthrough that’s somewhat obvious?

I’m just saying because i don’t think i will be playing them in a long time, and by that I may already have read other people

So just asking being curious, because i only found out that mom:

• Gets to outskirts almost immediately after survivor
• Sees that five pebbles starts to get angry at slugcats
• Finds lets creatures in their way, and is able to move through karma gates much easier
• Needs less food but has less strength

I also have the impression that monk somehow attracts the predators a bit less

Some stuff i did to go through hostile environment would have not worked with survivor

oh yeah and

• Monk finds survivor after ascending

But maybe there are some other differences that i haven’t noticed
