#First Gourmand run

Can you please spoiler tag Shaded Citadel in the intro message?
Gourmand has several skills and abilities that other slugcats don't have. Try to discover them and make use of them. Adapt your playstyle to your new slugcat and you'll have an easier time through your run.
It can be surprisingly fun to play Gourmand if you know how they work.
Gourmand is my prefered one !
I think I need to go through the basic movement stuff again since its been so long and I had forgotten you could even roll
yeah take your time
Sometimes before starting a rain worlding session I spend a bit of time in Arena to refresh my move techs.
Limber up those fingers and remember stuff I might have forgotten.
Arena is a good spot for practicing stuff, be it combat or movement.
My tip is taking time with the campaign. Don't rush to the end, instead get used to Gourmand's abilities and a new playstyle. It might feel very limiting at first, but once overcome the learning curve you'll likely be enjoying the experience.
Any tips for dealing with the evil kelps that hang from the ceiling? I'm adventuring through the lower parts of SC but having some trouble. Does Gourmand have more difficulty sneaking through?
Sone slugcats are better at stealth than others. Still, the evil kelps have a rather peculiar behavior. If you pay attention you might be able to understand them better and sneak past.
Spent ages trying to get around a single ceiling kelp only to arrive on the other room in complete darkness and be spawncamped by another kelp
How do you keep the frame rate killing/shadow spiders at bay in SD? Even with 2 glowing orbs they keep swarming me
u might be using wrong item on them but i wont say more
Its 2 of the orange ones you get when combining orange slime + rubble, they emit a lot of light and scare the small ones away, but the rooms im trying to traverse always have the ultra large amalgamations of spiders that eventually jump me
Got around to it and even got my first lizard hunt ever, I dont think I managed to kill a single lizard in the entirety of Monk and Survivor
After that and crafting and eating a mushroom, I managed to reach SL, since I saw the next target was a squid

Niiice.
The first lizard kill is always a moment of celebration. An aspiring hunter improving their skills and seeking bigger prey.
Now go hunt a bird.

On Survivor and Monk I only just avoided stuff, and got quite good at it, but was afraid of fighting back (at least with just a spear)
Then I tried Hunter and... things didnt go well lol
Cant event imagine taking down a bird
Can the stone be a black hole bomb
Yes, but only if you don't die from said bomb too.
How do I get around Salamanders as Gourmand, this scug is not the fastest swimmer
Oh and also, a giant vulture tried fishing me out of the water but thankfully I dodged it
I tought Moon would talk to me even without a colored pearl, but shes still silent
Oh I forgor u need to talk to 5p first
Ngl im kinda glad Shorelines map is blank cuz Its like I get to explore it for the first time again
And I see that there are some new areas near Moon too. But even with a Jetfish I cant seem to reach it before Gourmand drowning...
Got to Garbage Wastes and me and my boys (scavs) ganged up on a yellow lizard
But I still need to find my next target, which are the Hazers... I got to the Drainage Systems gate really fast but wonder if should explore more here first...
both seem like good options
Got one in GW! But wait, GW now has a path to Shaded Citadel??

Good news: this part of the Shaded Citadel has lots of Eggbugs
Bad news: this part of the Shaded Citadel has lots of Spiders

Oh wow, I followed this path and ended up at the same spot I tried getting to at the beggining of this run!
Fun thing is, even if not Gourmand exclusive, a lot of these new regions/subregions and paths are a first time for me, since when I did Monk and Survivor I didnt have Downpour
that's the fun thing about downpour, it adds so much more content there is always something new to see
And so begins my journey up The 🦵
Stick leggy out reeeeal far.

the limb
The appendage.
