Hi guys! I just got rainworld last week and have been playing it a lot but I have been a little confused where I should go. These are the regions that I have gone through so far in this order. Outskirts, Industrial Complex, Garbage Wastes, Shoreline, Moon something place, Shoreline again, Shaded Citadel, Industrial Complex again, Chimney Canopy (took forever... like 6 hours), and then I attempted to climb the wall. I noticed that it was exteremly difficult so I looked it up trying to avoid spoilers and apparently you're supposed to go another way. I then went back to Chimney Canopy and through Shaded Citadel into the Memory Crypts and now I'm going up The Leg. I'm just curious whether this is the right choice or not (it definitly feels better). Also advice where I should go next with minimal info would be great.

Also side tangent. I was at the Moon place and had like 3 pips of time left before the rain and didn't have food so I was frantically searching for food. I ran around before I found the only NPC (a robot) I have seen so far and because I was panicking, I didn't even listen to what it was saying and just starting eating the things hovering around its head (they kind of reminded me of the black moths) and robot died. Please no spoilers but is this going to affect my experience a whole lot or where I go because I noticed the yellow guide guy dissapeared after the NPC died.

If you're trying to avoid spoilers looking it up is exactly what you DON'T wanna do...
As for whether eating those glowy things, you were doing what any hungry creature would dohuntershrug

gaunt stone
#

Yeah I have been avoiding looking stuff up as much as I can

#

It's just I want to go the general main story path

#

Also I guess its find to eat those lol

lost lagoon
#

There is no "general main path", rw is non-linearrivowo

gaunt stone
#

So there is no sequence that story locations should be experience?

lost lagoon
#

Nope!monksilly

#

Because it's non-linear that doesn't mean there's a set progression path (people say they're in the "third area" and have no clue how little that narrows it downmonklaugh )

#

That doesn't mean there's isn't story thoughrivowo

hardy nova
#

A rich story does exist in the game but the game is not linear. You have free autonomy to explore it in any path you wish

#

Sooner or later you'll get to the places you want to

gaunt stone
#

Ok now I understand more thank you

hardy nova
#

Eating the hovering things does obviously affect your experience

gaunt stone
#

I do be glowing lol

hardy nova
#

Your guide abandoned you and you caused the death of a character. On the other hand you now glow.

gaunt stone
#

Sacrifices must be made lol

hardy nova
#

Can it really be called a right or wrong decision? You're just a creature doing what it has to survive huntershruggy

gaunt stone
#

I think I would have been cooked in the shaded citadel without it

#

But I do feel bad that I probably missed some lore

hardy nova
#

There's alternatives for everything hunterglee you'd find light sources in lieu of your body glow. And you'll find vague guidance in lieu of your yellow hologram guide friend.

#

If you ever wish to see how things could have changed with different decisions you can always check it out when you play another run someday. Or another slugcat.

gaunt stone
#

True true

#

Yeah I think my perspective of the game has changed

#

it makes more sense now

#

Is there an end?

#

Just yes or no answer please

lost lagoon
#

Yupmonksilly

hardy nova
#

Yes rivowo

gaunt stone
#

Noice

#

Will I be able to tell that the end is approaching?

hardy nova
#

That answer is a little layered, but l will say yes

#

I'll say that as your game experience has been so far, you've been wandering and surviving without much of a real goal, but that you will eventually reach a milestone in the experience where you'll find some more clarity and direction on what you want to do to get to the endgame locations.

gaunt stone
#

Exactly the answer I needed thank you!

#

I love this game!

hardy nova
#

It's a great game saintblep

#

When you finish survivor we look forward to you hopefully playing other campaigns in the dlcs

#

It's worthy to note that each character is its own story, they are not "same game but the slugcat is a different colour now". And they build onto the interconnected universe in exciting ways

gaunt stone
#

There is definitly frustration with trying to figure out what the world is and where to go but its also so fun at the same time. It feels like it's just out of reach.

hardy nova
#

It's said that the intended impression on the player is to feel like a little rat in the sewers of NYC slugcat

#

You're a simple critter scraping out a life in the middle of a big and mystifying world that's beyond your comprehension

gaunt stone
#

The vibes are immaculate

gaunt stone
#

I just got to a region called five pebbles and there is zero gravity!!!!

#

I am excited I feel like somethings coming

gaunt stone
#

Yeah I went through and met five pebbles so now I see what you meant by "you will know where the end will be at a certain point". I went over the top of the megastructure and that city looked so cool. It makes sense that the people that built everything lived up there. Also everything with the people who built everything disapearing is so cool. Did they escape the cycle of life and death?

#

I worked my way over to farming array to head west

#

But it has been really anoyying with the deer with the long legs

#

I have been using a puff thing I found but they are so annoying slughands

#

The deer I mean

#

I'm going to try to find another way

#

I remember there being a way down through outskirts

#

Are there other ways?

viscid harbor
#

Pebbles said west, past the farm arrays
Not necessarily go into the farm arrays, then go past

gaunt stone
#

Ok thank you!

#

I'm guessing there are a billion mods out there making it more fun

gaunt stone
#

Update: I got past farm arrays! Now going downmonklaugh

gaunt stone
#

Just finished the game for the first time!

#

Was a 10/10

#

Really trippy at the end

#

Now I'm trying to beat the game as the hunter

#

Is that the next thing I should do in regards to rainworld?

lost lagoon
#

Welcome to the 11%!!

gaunt stone
#

Thanks!

hardy nova
#

Congrats!!!

hardy nova
gaunt stone
#

Ok so I have been playing as hunter and I brought the neuron to moon and that went all well and dandy

#

Does that mean I finished a hunter run?

hardy nova
#

You haven't finished anything until the credits roll
