the movement is so different from rain world, despite how i learnt some rain world movement from applying hk knowledge

specifically wall jumping

I spent a painfully long time relearning how to wall jump in hk simply bc im so used to rain world

and it really makes me realise how well the movement system is in rain world, the physics is impeccable

the way the view also moves with the player

it's nauseating being used to rain world's screen-to-screen ting

I personally feel that celeste movement is on par

Celeste advanced movement is much more deliberate because it's a platformer that was developed with it and speedrunning in mind. Rain world on the other hand is first of all a survival simulator, a lot of its advanced movement is unintentional, unintuitive (there's literally no guides besides the pounce, while celeste directly teaches you a lot, even things like ||wavedashing||) and frankly not really needed. Both are impressive but couldn't be more different in a lot of aspects

I don't want to sound rude, I agree with most of this, but I do want to point out that even though rain world doesn't deliberately teach you a lot of movement mechanics, there are still a lot of things in rain world that are intentional, like ||sliding, rolling, slide-/rollpounces, backflips, a lot of stuff||, of course most of those even intentional mechanics aren't necessary, but it's still really cool stuff. also celeste does also have unintentional things, like ultras. And yes they are different, but I appreciate both of them a lot, and compared to other games like hollow knight, the polish and ?extensiveness? (is that the right word) in both these games's movement mechanics is amazing(, that's why I mentioned celeste earlier).

It depends. In order to make progress on Wanderer as soon as you start the game, you have to enable Passage Progress Without Survivor setting in remix. If it's disabled, you have to get the Survivor passage first. The challenge requires to have the option enabled
