It's not a linear game

Every region has multiple gates leading to multiple places, the world map links sort of like a spiderweb

So just explore according to what your gut desire tells you

And don't worry about the progression order or that you might be going the wrong way from the game's goals. Every path is a correct path, eventually

well, you can for sure keep trying! Dying is a natural part of the game, and it almost always happens when exploring

Any route is possible, you can even go 'backwards' through gates if you wish!
