i mean, not really? a lot of people already were guessing church would have a dark world (mostly since double doors but there’s already kind of like. a lot of religious references in chapters 1 and 2. like the angel and prophecies and stuff). also alvin asking if it was “right for the hammer to” was awfully suspicious. why would you bring up the presumably buried dust when you think people are out of earshot? and sure, we didn’t get confirmation monster funerals worked the same in deltarune as they did in undertale until chapter 4, but given a kid asks kris if it “hurts to be made of blood” (not a normal question to ask even for little kids. they’re curious more often than not, not creepy) we could have assumed they did.
and, given we had a “proper” neo fight (at least compared to undertale) it wouldn’t exactly be out of the question that we’d get more fights we didn’t get in undertale. especially considering undertale gerson directly acknowledges you can’t fight him as a shopkeeper.
and again, the entire point of me bringing up the gerson boom fight was to not knock theories because of insanity. insanity is involved in this. that’s the point.
the puzzle was there, we had some of the pieces, it’s just nobody bothered to put them together. and yes, i’m aware i’m looking at this with hindsight. i can’t really not do that.
i’m not really a big fan of arguing, but i do think we had the evidence to say gerson will likely show up in the dark world and even enough evidence to guess we had a battle (even if it had some amount of insanity. which, again, was the whole point. that’s why it was a comparison)
