that's not uncommon in the first playthroughs. explore the region you are in

drainage is a pretty nice area once you get used to it

left drainage, definitely my favourite area so far but i could not find any lore for the life of me

idk if im braindead or theres one location with ALL the lore cus other than learning to get good ive made 0 progress on the actual story

all ik is slugcat family die in rain, but slugcat somehow survives it, but the game never actually lets us survive rain ingame

idk what that did, cant seem to pick it up

It's a nonlinear game but in relative proportions you are still pretty early into the first slugcat

It's a show-not-tell game in many aspects, but a rich and very detailed lore does exist if you dig deeply. In an official manner not a game theory one.

That said! We love when first players act the game theorists and post about their predictions and hypotheses

my guess is the humans lived but got wiped out by the rain and since i do know about some gods in a tiktok i saw that got me interested in the game maybe the gods made the rain to kills the humans like a noahs ark type thing?
